This KitchenAid® 30-Inch, 4-Burner Downdraft Cooktop is a great looking cook top. The down draft exhaust fan works extremely well. The burners are electronic start and gas operated with great heat control. The only thing I do not like about it is that the Black Mirror Finish is extremely hard to clean, you would think that Kitchen Aid would make a product that the top shiny black glass finish can be easily wiped off with a mild detergent or a product like Windex. I hate to see what it will look like in 5 years of use.

The cooktop is very attractive, but only before its first use. However, that is my first complaint - it is extremely difficult and time consuming to clean. After nearly every use, all of the components need to be removed, cleaned using separate protocols and then reassembled â€" a process that takes no less than 15 minutes. The black glass is especially hard to clean, and the position of the knobs makes it impossible to clean around them without removing the knobs and the rubber seals. It also took many weeks of experimentation to determine that the only way to avoid streaking was to finish with a microfiber towel (no other material works). It would have been helpful if the instructions had said that. Second, after only a few uses, the porcelain surface on the cast iron grates began bubbling off. In addition, due to the glossy surface and the fact that the grates have an overall convex shape, some pans have a tendency to slip off the sides â€" a very dangerous proposition. As for cooking, I don’t find any of the burners to have a high enough BTU rating to boil water in a satisfactory amount of time (nor keep a big pot of pasta boiling properly) â€" the maximum burner is only 15,000 BTU. And here’s something that makes things worse â€" when the downdraft exhaust is on, it pulls the flame so strongly to one side, that the opposite side of the flame almost doesn’t exist! This makes for unacceptably uneven cooking. I checked the internet for other reviews of this cooktop to see if I was the only one who had similar problems â€" far from it. All of the problems I have experiences are common. I’ve come to the conclusion that this cooktop is just for looks and isn’t a serious cooking device. Before I just throw this out and spend a lot of money buying another brand , I thought I would check and see if there was anything KitchenAid was willing to do. They made it very clear that they weren't willing to do anything regarding my dissatisfaction with this product.

I remodeled my kitchen and this is my new stove. I love how easy it is to clean. No more tray to pull out because something spilled over and under the burner.

Did a complete remodel, needed a downdraft. Looks great and cooks well. Cleaning is pretty easy, wish it came in a 36" inch with 5 burners though.

I bought this Gas cook top and Love it. Had an electric cook top before. It looks wonderful in our center island and really finishes off our granite counters, cooks fantastic and cleans up easily. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the downdraft fan seems to be weak. It may be the vent, I don't know. Will have to check it out
Love the downdraft!
Bought this with the new house. Love the downdraft instead of a hood or microwave fan above

I love this gas stove top. Burners are nice and hot and easy to simmer too. Glass top is easy to clean- but have a dry microfiber cleaning cloth handy to polish the glass after you get the oil and grime off. Other reviewers have stated that the cooking grills are slanted- it is just an optical illusion. They are flat and all of my pots and pans stay in place as they should.
