very effective at moisture removal, but the fan operates for long periods even when moisture is not being removed -this is noisy and not necessary.Evaporator defrost does require some additional fan run time, but not to this extent.My unit failed after approx. 9 months of operation and was replaced under warranty. The failure was due to almost complete loss of refridgerant which suggests poor quality control in manufacture.

Really moves the air. Having three fan speeds is a great plus. Completely got rid of the odor in our basement when the Kenmore dehumidifier stopped working. Awesome machine!

I purchased this dehumidifier in August 2011 and used it during early fall and summer months (6)in a small bedroom. It stopped working in September 2012 - one month after the one-year warranty expired. I have yet to find a dehumidifier that lasts two years but this is a record for the shortest duration.

I had one before and the compressor went out before 1 year. I have another brand and that is quieter and runs more efficent. This one runs and turns off for 25 seconds and then turns on again and I do not want to run continuiously. I do not use the delay, and the room is not that big. It is noisy also. would not buy this one again but had to replace it with the same one I had for warranty purposes.

I liked the previous model so much, I gave this one a try. The older model stopped working after about 3 years (but also survived a flooded basement- 10,000 galons of water) Other reviews of the older model complained about working only a few years. I hope this one lasts longer.

The only thing I do not like about the product is the bucket gets too full and when I go to empty it, water spills.
