I need white noise when I travel and usually have to hunt down a fan. By downloading the sleep nite app and using these speakers, I can have the sound of a fan anytime I want. They're also great for listening to Pandora radio in the morning when I'm getting ready....Improved the sound quality immensely!

We needed to replace the speakers we had travelled with for years after they died a year ago.

After some online comparison shopping, we went with:
iHome Black Portable Multimedia Speakers - iHM79BC Speaker System.
These seemed to have all the important attributes we sought: moderate price, compact size for transport, great sound, ease of connectivity and use.

We figured these were a good place to start for the price, and once we got them and hooked them up for a trial run at home - WOW. We were very impressed with the sound; pure, clear, honest sound and not too heavy on the bass (my Bose docking system could use improvement on that).

We have toted them along on two vacations and just love them -- Easy to travel with because they're small (actually smaller than a soda can when collapsed and resting base to base), and lovely to listen to! They charge through a laptop and have a long battery life for use with ipod, iphone, etc. Overall, these speakers are fabulous gadget. The only added feature I'd like is a volume control on the speakers. Our dead set had that and it was very convenient.

The sound from these little speakers is impressive (so realistic, they freaked out my dog). And they're compact & fit together cleverly. BUT the way they connect w/ 3 wires is a major bummer. The wires tangle easily, in spite of the poorly designed clip that ostensibly should prevent tangling. The wires ruined the speakers for me. This is a great buy for someone who doesn't intend to travel frequently w/ these speakers.
