I own one unit (Danby), but this extremely hot summer prompted the purchase of a second one. This Friedrick is great. Cools quickly and performs as I would expect. It might be a little loud for a bedroom, but it is certainly only white noise and not any louder than a conventional window unit. I whole-heartedly endorse this product-- it has saved my deposition this horribly hot summer!

We bought one for our server room in an emergency situation that was around 80 degrees in the room. It got the room down to about 77, which is good, but not good enough for our situation. We bought 1 more of these and they worked great side by side. Also, We never had to change the water in the 1 month we had these running.The room cooled down to 73. So 5 stars if you buy 2 units, otherwise, 1 by itself did a pretty good job.

I bought the larger unit thinking that it would be able to cool my living room space which is about 400 sq ft. Never got the room below 80 degrees on the hot days over memorial day weekend. Moved it to the bedroom and it does a fairly good job keeping that room cool but it is much noiser than a window unit and takes up much more room than I thought it would.

I will definitely shop again with Abt based on the service and delivery. The first unit I purchased didn't work well and they didn't hesitate to arrange for a new one to be delivered. They were helpful and friendly throughout the entire process.

The unit purchased from Able is the second identical unit I own. Each is installed in its separate 450 sq foot studio apartment. Both work well in all respects. The one just purchased is more quiet that the one purchased a year ago. There is no condensate buildup in either unit; it all gets exhausted through the vent duct.

This a/c unit is very difficult to drain. You must tilt it 90 degrees and let the water out in a pan or bowl. The drain knob is at the very bottom and you have to have a very flat pan to get under the drain knob. It's very heavy and hard for one person to perform this function. I even had to put mine on cement bricks to elevate it. Very stupid design and not worth the hassel. Don't buy this. A window unit is more portable than this thing. Yes it works ok; but, the hassel to drain the water is quite annoying. The hot air out-take pipes are very unsightly also. This unit is actually a total piece of garbage. Buy a window unit.

It works well at cooling the room. But it is rather noisy when the A/C compression is running. While it fits the requirements that I had, a regular window A/C unit would probably work better.
