The hot cycle on this machine is actually warm. Both hot and cold water are added to the machine on the hot cycle. I was told if I wanted to wash in hot to use bright white or sanitary. On bright whites the internal heater is supposed to heat the water up to 122 degrees. The water coming from my hot water heater is all ready at 140 so the machine cools of perfectly hot water and then is supposed to heat it back up. However my bright whites cycle is only 90 degrees. Also, I can not wash ONE set of sheets or a blanket without it getting out of balance. My whites do not come clean and are now dingy.

Comments about LG WT5101HW White Top Load Washer:
The LG model wt5070cw washer is complete junk! It has been displaying an UE error code since the first load. The UE problem has only gotten worse. Don't believe the positive reviews on this site. Go search the web and you will find countless others who are having the same problem. LG knows this washer needs a software update and a new rotor to fix the problem, but they refuse to make it right with their customers.

This washer has been awful from the beginning. It goes unbalanced all the time, filling, draining and filling again with water trying to balance itself. I can't understand how it received an energy star rating. It sucks more energy and wastes more water than if I let the shower run all day long! This happens with small and large loads. There should be negative star options. I have no idea how consumer reports rated this so high. I can't explain enough how much I loath this washer. Will never buy another LG appliance!

I read all reviews I thought. I regret buying this thing. It never balanced. Clothes do not spin. It is so noisy and wobbly. Horrible horrible horrible. To top it off I use it for my 90 year old with Alzheimer's and we needed a reliable washer for her bedding. Like always I chose the wrong one! Thank goodness I have a 3 year warranty. I hope they do something about this.

Do not buy this washer!
By Bad washer
I have had this washer for less than two years. I have had continual problems with UE codes and unbalanced loads. It does not matter if I have a small load or a large load. When unbalance, the washer will repeatedly fill with water and drain to try to rebalance. It wastes a tremendous amount of water and time. I've had loads take three hours to wash and that includes me rebalancing the load by hand several times. The software was replaced once under the one year warranty. Now I will have to pay for additional repairs - no thank you! Also, the water drain holes are so small that grass or other small particles can not drain away from the clothes so loads are never completely clean. I am going to replace this machine with another brand.
I have had this machine for about 3-4 years now, and I will NEVER again buy one like this. My loads are CONSTANTLY unbalanced, causing the machine to drain, and refill, try it again, and then beep at me to fix the load, only to do it again 5 minutes later. It doesn't seem to matter how large my load sizes are, and it happens on each setting that I have tried so far. Also, I'm finding that my clothes are not coming nearly clean enough. I like LG products, and as far as reliability goes, the washer and dryer have not given me any technical issues, but I am extremely disappointed with this machine, and considering the cost factor...not cool.
Awful washing machine!!!
I wish I could give this NO STARS! I will say it washes well.Taking over an hour for each load, which is a bit ridiculous. But...it goes out of balance way too often no matter the size of the load, and being a so called high efficacy washer its a joke. When it goes out of balance it tries to correct itself, spins, goes out of balance, drains the water and refills.. So there goes my whole weekend just to do 3 loads of clothes, towels and bedding.
Never ending UE code!!

I bought this for it's large size and nice design. I get the uE or UE code with every load I wash. Two years after I bought it they replace the rotor, stator, and computer board. Now a year later and it has all the same problems again!! With the uE code coming up that is for unbalanced load. The load is actually balanced just fine somethign is just wrong with it. It can take me 24 hours to get one load of laundry done. This is not efficient at all.....it wastes a ton of water and makes our bill high. I am not even sure how well the wash cycle is even cleaning the clothes either. Please LG replace these useless units for us. The matching dryers seem to work fine...especially give the add load they get from the washer not spinning correctly. I called LG and they said they will cover parts under the warranty but we have to pay labor...well I feel I should not have to pay anything considering the is an ongoing problem that many many people have. Please LG do the right thing for your customers that bought this lemon!

Worst washer I have ever had!! Loads take forever to wash. Agitation is poor, which means I often have to re-rinse a load of black clothing, as soap residue remains after the cycle is completed. Towels have been snagged. Sanitary wash cycle doesn't get extra hot as it is supposed to, and takes 3 hrs!!! Really disappointed in this product. It has all the 'bells and whistles', but underperforms in its basic function, ie to clean clothes well, within a reasonable period of time.
Not what is marketed!

I am a mother of 4 kids and I needed a washer that could handle larger loads. Something that I could throw a large load in when I went out for after school pickup and throw in the dryer when we got home so that we could fold later in the evening or the next morning. With our smaller washer I was washing 6-8 loads a day just to keep up with need. So, I researched and found the LG WT5070CW. It seemed to have everything we needed. Now, less than 3 years later it's busted. It never used enough water or it used too much water and kept showing the UE or FE error. At first, I just thought it was human error. I called LG and was spoken to like I was an idiot on the first week of having the unit because it wasn't filling with enough water. I would come home to find loads never washed because of the UE error displayed and let's not talk about how unclean the clothes were. Then about 3 years later (December 2015) it overfills with water. We keep getting the FE error. I don't recommend this washer for anyone. I have no idea what to replace it with, but we may just go back old school and do clothes by hand. Lord knows a $1600 fee over 3 years, plus all of the water and energy waste, I could probably do it cheaper myself.

This by far is the worst machine I've ever owned. The machine started to rust around the top lip and at the detergent/softener tray within one year. When the wash cycle first starts, the machine "senses" the load by spinning the bottom plate of the tub. This effectively turns your well placed laundry into a VERY tight ball. For giggles, the machine will shake it to settle the huge ball it just created. It uses about a teaspoon of water to clean your clothes, it's pathetic. Clothes come out smelling awful if you don't clean it once a week. Do not purchase. I wish I had the old machine back. These new machine without the agitator bar are useless and don't clean the clothes like it should
