So far, cools effectively and quickly. I have a tiny room, so it would be pretty pathetic if it didn't. It has a kind of rattle, alongside the hum, that is intermitten and thus more annoying than a steady noise. However, I live on a noisy street so it's less distracting or irritating than the noise outside. Not for light sleepers though (same could be said for my neighborhood).

Installation instructions include instructions for installing in a vinyl window. I found it impossible to drill into the vinyl frame so it's just wedged in with the window holding it in place. This doesn't seem ideal

This is a great air conditioner. It's quiet, cools the room quickly, has an Auto setting to shut off when it's not needed, thus saving power. I don't know what else you'd look for!
My one complaint is that every time you push a button on it, even with the remote control, it makes a very loud beeping sound. There should be a way to turn this of as it's disconcerting if you change a setting while half asleep at night.

We have 2 of these - one in each bedroom. We have had both replaced once. Positive: It cools our 130 square foot rooms well if allowed to run for about an hour before bedtime (then we turn them off). Second positive is ABT installation and service - which we have had to use a lot. Negatives: The units are so loud when it's hot that we have to shut them off to sleep. It's not the main unit sound (fairly quiet), it's the condensation water splashing on the inside, against the styrofoam sheet. The sound is intermitent and loud, like a bug zapper. The button beep sound (any button you push) is high pitched and loud - and you cannot turn it off.

Service and delivery comments:

ABT installation and service is GREAT. I cannot say enough good things about them. They were timely, and did a great job. They have adjusted how the units are installed and it helped until the units got really full of water (a good rain or just running them while it's hot), Basically the design of how these units (and all units like this) handle water is the problem. As i have no other alternative, we'll have to do the best we can with these units.

I cool the kitchen. I needed something that I could manage. So the weight mattered alot. But the cooling is minimal.If you can put a larger one in your window yourself, I would. I have a large unit, same brand, installed permanently in the living room and I like it.

This is one of the best air conditioning unit that you can purchase in its class. The problem with this unit is that the water is not easily draining out. I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the unit. Before doing this there was so much water in it. The problem was that the fan was going into the water and would make a very loud noise. But this is a quick and easy fix.

I read mostly good reviews about Frigidaire air conditioners and purchased the 6000 BTU (FRA065AT7) and the 12,000 BTU (FRA126CT1) to accommodate a bedroom and kitchen. The 12,000 BTU model works well in cooling my larger eat-in kitchen with relatively low noise. The 6000 BTU model was installed in my 12' x 12' bedroom and provided the necessary coolness, but operated with a consistent low level scratching type noise that was thoroughly irritating when you're trying to sleep. Who knows, maybe I got a faulty unit, because the 12,000 BTU model doesn't make this noise. Anyway, I returned the scratchy one and replaced it with a 6000 BTU Kenmore (70062) which runs extremely quite and has absolutely no strange noises. The Kenmore was $269.00, but worth it for a light sleeper.

Bought two for second floor bedrooms. Have whole house A/C as well, so having good thermostat important. These units work very well. Only issue is shape of bottom made it difficult to install in one newer double hung window - had to make a special wood shelf.
