When my wife and I were hunting for a fridge, we wanted one without an external water dispenser because we rarely would use it (we have a filtered pitcher we like to use) and it would otherwise collect dust and scale. When we came across this one, it had everything we wanted and for the right price. The shelving is more than adequate for a family of four (we have a one and two year old) and can easily hold 2 gallons of milk, all our condiments and 2 juice or soda bottles (the 2 liter ones). The pull out freezer holds more than we expected it would....and we have yet to cram it to the point where we can't hold more (going on 6 months of use). The temperature stays very stable even after repeated opening and loading groceries. The veggie crispers work very well and the large pull out tray is very convenient either for holding platters or thawing frozen meats for 1-2 days use. Cleaning has been almost unnecessary except when something spills and even then it is very easy to wipe up...nothing has dripped down or off of it's shelf...yet (not that I'd expect it to). The electricity consumption rating is accurate if not a little overkill...we left it at factory setting (38 fridge, 30 freezer) and this has been very adequate. Ice cubes form within an hour or two. We have not used the water hook up feature or the ice dispenser but as a fridge/freezer...this was everything I wanted and more. Plus, the stainless steel looks awesome.

I like the French Door concept, but I wish I checked other brands. The refrigerator does not offer the room that I had with my top freezer. Not sure if we didn't notice the door was not tightly closed or if there was an issue when we packed a lot of food in the freezer but the items on the top shelf began to thaw. We lost our ice cream, and some frozen dinners.

Kitchenaid 22 cu.ft. standard depth French door fridge.

Comments about KitchenAid 21.9 CuFt French Door Refrigerator:
Love the fridge, only wish it had one more shelf that was tall enough for a bottle of pop. We put milk in the one that's tall enough, and we need two spots. The fridge is great, handy and love being able to see everything. So far no little green growth hidden surprises in the back!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have always regarded Kitchen Aid as a premium product, and the MADE IN AMERICA sticker inside the door sealed the deal for us. Performance-wise, accessibility is tops, and optimum temperatures are maintained perfectly
Loving my Kitchenaid Refrigerator
We bought our new French door freezer on the bottom refrigerator. It is so nice to be able to see inside without bending over all the time. Every thing in it's place.
Good frig, what we were expecting

We bought this frig right before Thanksgiving. It works well, especially like the 'door open' alarm. Only real thing we don't like is access to the deli-drawer. You have to open both frig doors to slide it out. Annoying when what you want is only one small thing in there. For us, a split drawer would have been more handy. Other than that, good price and quality is what we expected.
Kitchenaid - 22 Cu. Ft. - Architect Series II Refrigerator

We could not be more pleased with this refrigerator. It is very well designed, very economical to operate, very easy to rearrange shelves for maximum efficient use of storeage space, and very quiet operation.
Design could be better.
The "open door" alarm is not adjustable and is set at 5 minutes. Way to long. When you close the left door, the right door pops open and does not always reclose on its own.

Our refrigerator died and we had limited space, this is just right and gave us more room than the sidebyside we had. love it! One thing the water comes out slow.

My husband and I picked this model because it had the features we were looking for, french doors, bottom drawer freezer and stainless front. We have not been disappointed with the interior temperature controls, the interior water dispenser (though it is slow), the multiple adjustable glass shelves and the moisture controlled vegetable drawers. The long cheese/meat drawer has been very convenient with it's visibility. Things don't get lost in it.

I absolutely love the look of my new Kitchenaid refrigerator. It brightens my entire kitchen. The poet who wrote, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever," must have been talking about my refrigerator. Even when she ages, her beauty will light up my kitchen.
