This dryer does everything a dryer needs to do and MORE!! When my old dryer died, I was looking for replace it in a hurry - preferably same day delivery. I ended up with this unit because it looked great, matched my Duet washer from last year, and had a great price and immediate delivery! I'm ashamed to admit I didn't even realize it had the STEAM function until it was delivered! (I admit it, I was a Mom in a RUSH!) It is fantastic! It dries huge loads, it is pretty quiet, it is attractive to look at, and the steam function allows me to avoid ironing (which is a chore that I hate!). I don't think that this unit could disappoint. I am so happy that I selected this unit!! (My Background: Purchased original matched Kenmore pair just before my first child was born and he is 22 this year. I'm on washer #4, which is a Whirlpool Duet, and it was dryer #1 that finally died and had to be replaced. I almost bought the pair last year, but held out and I'm sure glad that I waited - this dryer is fantastic!! I have two young men, 18 & 22, both between 6'3" and 6'5" and growing and the jeans loads are brutal on most machines. This drys them like a dream, self calculates the dry time and the shrinkage has been so minimal is blows my mind!! You got the temperature functions and moisture monitors adjusted amazingly well!)

Overall this washer looks good and does a great job when it is in proper working condition. Note: there are only two of us,m so the washer is not used hard as it would be for a family with children... We purchased it new in March and at first it worked well, but soon after started to get louder at the spin cycle. The noise at the spin cycle grew and grew until it sounded like a jet taking off. In early September the complete basket and drum were replaced because the bearings are incorporated (welded) to those large parts of the washer. The washer appeared to be fixed and was quiet for about one week and then started to get loud again. We are waiting for the repairman to return to install the new drum and basket parts that are here waiting. These parts that continually need to be replaced are practically the whole washer! These repais and parts are covered by the Whirpool warranty, but if this continues to happen, our warranty will run out and we are going to be stuck with a very large and repeated repair bill. I would NOT recommend this type of front loader washer to anyone unless it was redesigned. Another drawback is that the cycles, even the energy efficient cycles, take very long to run. The clothes ARE clean, but I think it could be done in 3/4 of the time or perhaps even half the time.

So far this has been a great dryer. So many features it looks like the cockpit of a 747 at night. But it's been easy to use and works perfectly. Only complaint, and it's a minor one, is how many screws involved in switching the door hinge to open the other direction. Overall we've been very happy with this dryer and have nothing but good to say about it's performance and looks.

We bought this dryer to replace a dryer that was only two years old and quit working. The old dryer took 2 - 3 cycles to dry one load of clothes and if not extremely careful with the setting would literally burn clothes and bedding. The new Duet is awesome. It is extremely quiet. The clothes dry in the same time it takes the washer to complete a cycle if not sooner. I love the "wrinkle shield" feature which keeps fluffing the clothes every few minutes until you are able to take the clothes out. The steam feature to refresh clothes is awesome as well. I would strongly recommend this dryer to anyone. The day I got it I did 6 loads of laundry with ease.

The new dryer I purchased is very quiet and efficient. I love the temperature controls. No more " too hot " for my cotton knits. The towels come out soft and fluffy without using a fabric softener sheet.

I have only used my dryer a handful of times as I bought it a little over a month ago but I am impressed with the features and the way it looks. I actually look forward to washing clothes because I am so happy with my dryer that I want to use it. I don't have a large family so I don't have a large quantity of clothes to wash so I have found myself looking forward to using it.
