Good, but prefer the old design closure

We use this in a 2000 sq-ft house with 2 adults, 2 children, and a German Shepherd Dog (ie: LOTS of dog-hair). We vacuum 2-4 times/week, filling up a bag every month.

Overall, it filters well giving clean air, and is strong, so won't tear if you vacuum up sharp objects. But the old design closure would slide closed when the bag was removed from the vacuum (Miele S251). The new design has a flap, which when the bag fills, does not allow the flap to close and thus will not allow the bag to keep the dust contained when you remove the bag from the vacuum. I'm not sure why they went with this new closure system as it is pretty-much useless unless you only fill the bag 3/4 of the way full. But the "full indicator" on the vacuum would be of no use, and you'd have to constantly check before replacing the bag (this would be wasteful as well). So the only option is to carefully lift out the bag and carry it out to the garage and place it in the garbage so as to not release any dust in the house.

Miele vacuum is designed very well, I don't have to worry about parts and attachments waring out for a long time.

Vaccuum cord could be 5 to 8 feet longer.

Service and delivery comments:

Vacuum bags were delivered promptly. However, the box was crushed and vaccum boxes were smushed. Fortantely, vacuum bags were not damaged.

Make sure you order an extra box of dustbags. They fill-up quickly in the tropics especially if you have dogs as we do. This miele dustbag never breaks no matter how full it is when you change it. I love my miele vacuum cleaner and the replacement dustbags are top quality too.
