Had this unit installed in my park model camper. Easily handles dinner dishes for 4 or 6. Cleans glassware remarkably well. It is very quiet (important in a small, camper-sized space! Uses only 3 gals. of water per full cycle and draws less than 156 amps of electricity. I coldn't be happier with it!

This unit is decent. It fits a good amount of dishes (6 place settings is probably more realistic than the advertised 8) and in my experience, cleans very well. It's a bit loud and the cycle is long--2 hours--and there's no way to skip the drying part of the cycle. You also have to have the water running the entire time the unit is on, so it takes a lot more water than what it would even take to wash them by hand. I haven't had the unit long enough to speak to its longevity, but my biggest early-on complaint are the instructions. They give you detailed directions on how to fill the detergent, but there are no installation instructions. Can you use cold water? Can you turn off the water during the dry cycle? How do you hook it up to your sink? These are the minor mysteries you'll face with this unit. As with all portable dishwashers, you may also need an adapter to fit the unit to your sink. Since there's nothing in the materials or on this site to tell you about the connection, let me help you out: The dishwasher's connection is male 55/64", so you'll need a female 55/64 adapter if your aerator is a different size. I find the unit leaks from the faucet, but I'm hoping some Teflon tape will help with that. In all, I think I'd buy this unit again, but only if it were on sale. It's not the smoothest in the world, but it does the job.

Short story: Horrible delivery and bizarre billing--do yourself a favor and buy from someone else. I bought this online and was charged immediately. A few days later it appeared out of stock, and I got an email telling me I'd have to wait almost a month for it. I agreed to wait, but Abt didn't remove the charge from my credit card for weeks. That was annoying, but no big deal. A few weeks later I got a call to schedule delivery, as promised, and the day of delivery the driver was very communicative about when I would expect him. I thought I was getting the delivery others talk about in their reviews: someone to explain how to install the unit, help me with the box, etc. Nope. The delivery guys dropped the box in the middle of my living room (knocking over my pet's water and food bowls in the process) and left within 2 minutes. I was left with a huge box and an appliance I couldn't move on my own. When I took apart the box, the unit was suspiciously muddy. Another strike. When I discovered this appliance doesn't come with installation instructions, I called Abt to find out how to use it and what to do with the funnel included. They told me the pieces were "probably nothing important" and to "just attach it to the faucet." Rather than finding someone who had at least seen the appliance before, they shrugged off my problem as the result of buying something from a foreign manufacturer. What? They were also no help on what size adapter to get. This was a minor inconvenience since I just took my aerator and the connection with me to the hardware store, but after the dismissive phone call and the less-than-useless delivery guys, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Customer service is the last thing these people care about, and I'll never buy anything from Abt again.

Loved the Abt way of doing business; used them in other purchases also. The dishwasher surpassed all expectations. Service man explained more to us about how to utilize unit completely where manual left out some information. Installed in small home.
