This hood works fine for the price. It's a little loud and the fan area into which the air is sucked is small, so some smoke and vapors aren't pulled in. Good for those who don't cook very much. Installation was easy and straightforward. Can't beat the price.

replaced older unit [15 yrs old] with newer unit. Exhaust fan at high speed is quieter than previous unit however blower speed is lower.

This was a direct replacement for the same type unit. The old unit was 18 years old and was still working. The previous owners of the house really didn't keep up with the cleaning of the old unit, so it was just easier to replace it. Very functional unit. Does what it is designed for. Unit is much quieter than old unit, but not exactly whisper quiet. Great value for the money.

This is exactly what I needed. Why spend over $100 on a range hood when this one works perfectly? It's not fancy or complicated. It has a light and it has a two-speed fan. You really need two people to put it in. I haven't had to clean it yet, but the smooth metal should be easy to wipe clean.
