Before we purchased our Electrolux front loading washer, the salesman at the appliance store demonstrated the many features of the machine. Compared to the brand we had been using for years, the things that the Electrolux could do were so far advanced that it was like light years ahead of our old machine. We purchased immediately. Since then the true test of the product came when we actually had it in our home and used it. The results are astonishing! It's easy to use, it's quiet, cycle choices include every imaginable type of desired wash, it's gorgeous sitting in your home, it saves on electricitry and water, and best of all, it really cleans. Since purchasing our Electrolux washer and realizing the quality they put into their products, we went back and bought the dryer, stove, oven, warming trays and dishwasher. And the best part, in over a year now, everything performs beautifully. You might find some of the Electrolux features in other name brands but you will never find all of them in one and you will never find better.

We have had a front load washer for over 10 years now and it finally came time to purchase new. We had enjoyed our previous model but felt we should look at all brands openly. After selecting the 4.4 Wave Touch Electrolux we felt we had selected a quality unit. After we installed the unit, it ran its "install cycle" and passed. On the first load we only put couple pairs of pants, one shirt, and some socks and used the Normal cycle. About 15 minutes in the washer stopped, and never moved again, then it produced an error code. I was then forced to rinse my load by hand. While I am quite an understanding person, when a family purchases a "top of the line" model there is, and should be, a level of excellent implided. If not for the large sum of money spent, then at least for the brand name's own self respect. I am hoping we get through this "error" with no further problems, but I am questioning quality control of a high end unit... Make sense???

Comments about Electrolux Island White Front Load Washer:
We purchased a pair of front loading washer / dryer for our new home and have been very pleased with their options and performance. Both are extremely quiet, and clean and dry our clothes thoroughly and gently.

I absolutely love my new washing machine. It is so quiet and even though I was told it would probably be a longer wash time than my old machine, it is actually shorter or the same time length. Drying time is quicker. WIN-WIN!! Thanks Electrolux! I am one happy person!
Energy and water efficient absolutely quiet
I am really impressed about the energy and water efficiency. This washing machine is absolutely quiet and informs you with a nice beep tone when it is finished. It has several washing options which is very practical. There is even a 15 minute speed wash option. Very well designed and engineered. High quality. It is really worth its price.
Softener dispenser not working well
So far the washer works well except the softener dispenser was not working as it’s supposed to. Had service people come over to look at it just after a couple of months purchase because we noticed our towels and clothes getting harder and harder. Looks like the residue of softener hardens below the tray because it doesn’t go to the machine completely with the water spray stream (maybe it’s not strong enough). Also the Softener tray keeps accumulating new sticky softeners.
Easy to use and large enough drum to wash comforter's that we used to take to the laundromat. The pedestal height is good.
Great Product! Very well made appliance.
I wanted to buy a good product for the new home, my friend recommended me to Electrolux so I gave it a shot and it was a lovely experience. All the clothes are easily clean and the machine doesn't really shake at all, I can barely here any noise from it. I love this washer.
I was skeptical but...
I was skeptical abut unusual door lock but now I like it! Reversible door - plus. Practically all washing presets are customizable and adjustable, I'm using it very often. Overall, very satisfied.
Our new machines are FANTASTIC!!! The washer is easy to use, cleans clothes effectively and quickly, and it is quiet enough for a second floor laundry room. Definitely worth every penny so far! I can't wait for laundry day now!

About Me Frequent User
I bought the Washer/Dryer combo for my family just about a month ago and have done about 16 plus loads in that time. They covered the gamut of types (Whites only, Large load Towels, quick wash for the kids clothes, Huge stuff it in there mixed loads etc.)Most of the reviews were spot on about the faults (such as the dispenser tray always has water in it) and the praise (quick wash really does a good job). These are some things that I didn't see in reviews:When mounted on pedestals it is quite tall (close to 5ft) so if you are a shorter person you might have trouble filling the dispenser.A few heavy items are a problem (never had a Front Loader before so maybe they all have this problem). A couple of bathroom floor mats came out dripping wet since the machine could not balance the load.Wash times are off by an roughly 5 minutes (sometimes more, sometimes less) due to the machine trying to balance the load. The machine is heavy so plan on it staying put, which means leave enough clearance to comfortably get to the hoses and water shut off.If you are planning to install this machine (with the matching dryer)with the pedestals here is a how long it took me with a power screwdriver:Pedestals to Machine - 45 minutesLeveling the washer - 12 to 15 minutes.Reversing the door - 45 -50 minutes (Don't attempt without the EXCELLENT instructions)Hook-up 10 minutes (HOWEVER if you do have the matching STEAM dryer Electrolux supplies a Y connector and a 12" extension hose. Depending on where your water outlet is this may or may not be enough).
BIG BIGGER BIGEST!

We come from a long line of Top Loaders. My wife did not like the idea of a front loader (all the complaints about smells and leaks). It did not help that with the pedestals the machine was as tall as she was. She needs to get on a stepstool to put in the detergent (a problem solved by having the big jug tipped to fill - no heavy lifting!) Of course the machine has soooo many settings that at first it is intimidating BUT you don't have to use them - we go with the basics 99% of the time.We have owned this machine for about a month and have done about 12 loads of various sizes. One thing I noticed right away was the time remaining is entirely dependent on the ability of the machine to balance the load for spinning. It usually adds a good 5 minutes to the wash time. Another weakness - it does not do a even a fair job of extracting on a small load of heavy items. I washed 2 bathmats and the machine could not balance the load for extraction and they came out soaking wet. These are not a distraction from the overall performance of this machine which is quite stellar.Aside from the aforementioned few heavy items load, it does a fabulous job on small, medium and large loads. I haven't noticed that my whites are whiter (as I have read in another review) but the clothes come out CLEAN and with way less water then any Top Loader (my wife still can't believe it). Another plus is that our old washer tangled up the clothes pretty badly. This washer not so much. Finally, I installed this Washer/Dryer combo myself. I brought it down to my basement all by myself and I can tell you it is at least 250 to 300 lbs and I have no intention of ever trying to bring it up (at least in one piece). I have to say the installation instructions were some of the best I have ever seen. Not only were they written by someone with a firm grasp of the English language but also someone who knew exactly where you might make a wrong move.Times for the various assembly tasks for me using a power screwdriver were:Mount pedestal - 45-50 minutes.Reverse door - approx. 1 hour.Connect hoses - a long time, because I tried several configurations and the fact that I have the matching dryer with steam and that needed a water connection. Electrolux supplied a Y connector and a 12" hose extension hose but that wasn't long enough to get to the dryer from my water outlets).Summery: This machine is QUIET, does a great job cleaning your clothes and is amusing to watch. A plus, mounted on the pedestals you have little or no bending over to remove the finished load.
