We have owned this beauty for a little over a year and I am still in love. It is big and bright and beautiful to look at but the best parts are inside. The first thing you notice is the large bank of LED lights at the top. When you first open the double French doors, you can almost imagine hearing a choir of angels singing. I am not kidding, it is amazing the amount of light that shows through every inch of this beauty. The freezer and fridge temperatures are displayed on the door and are pre-set at 0degrees and 37degrees, I have checked the accuracy and they are spot on. And speaking of the freezer, this model has 2 separate freezer drawers and they have plenty of room inside and are easy to open and close. There is also a light in the freezer drawer which comes in handy when you just want to run out between commercials and grab that pint of ice cream without turning on the kitchen light, very clever! There are 3 crisper drawers, 2 large and one small one. Because this fridge is deep, I can put an enormous amount of produce in these drawers and can keep vegetables with stronger smells, like green peppers, away from fruits by using one drawer for veggies and one for fruits. I have noticed that lettuce and celery (which the smaller center crisper drawer is perfect for) stays really crisp and crunchy, and I have had strawberries that lasted 2 weeks. There is also a full width shallower drawer below the crispers which can be set to store meat, veggies or to use as a deli drawer. Each setting will then have a different temperature which is genius because we have all had veggies that froze if we used a lower drawer to store them. I use it for deli meats and cheeses and I swear that my lunch meats are staying fresh longer because of the perfect temperature for these items. The icemaker is a slim one, hidden behind a panel on the left fridge door. I love this feature because it has shelves on the front of the icemaker panel for soda cans and smaller items where, in former models, just a huge icemaker took up half of the door and wasted a lot of space. A large family who uses a lot of ice may find this a problem but we are not users of lots of ice and it is absolutely the perfect size for us. In fact, in our previous fridge, which was an enormous side-by-side, the icemaker took up half of the freezer side and I would often have to dump the bin because the ice became stale. This fridge uses a compact water filter which is in the upper left corner of the fridge and very easy to access and change, no more crawling on the floor to change the filter. Ice and water through the door; however, the water dispenser takes a bit of learning to use because it comes out at the top of the dispenser, in a different location than the ice, and a few people have mistakenly put their glass under the ice dispenser and pressed the water button and water then runs down the door and onto the floor. But, you can lock out the controls until you have shown everyone where to put the glass or pitcher and after a few errors, which will happen, they will get the hang of it. That feature allows a much taller glass, mug or pitcher to be used to fill with water so it a great feature, just one that has a slight learning curve. All in all, I would definitely recommend this refrigerator. It looks absolutely gorgeous in my kitchen, has excellent features and is energy star rated. It holds so much more than any fridge I have ever had and that was the main reason that we purchased it. Our 25 cu. ft. stainless side-by-side was still like new but we couldn't store anything in the freezer because it had the huge icemaker and tiny shelf bins. And forget about putting any large items in the fridge side, there was just no room for anything of any size or width. I was so happy to replace it with this model, and the young couple to whom we gave our previous fridge was delighted so it was a win-win situation!!"

If I wrote this review during the first 3 months I bought the LMX28988ST I would've rated it 5 stars all around. It seemed amazing at first... lots of space, ice dispenser & water convenient, etc... HOWEVER, after using & owning the fridge for almost 9 months now my opinion has changed completely and I wish I didn't buy this product for these reasons: 1. The "energy saving" seal that is on the left door that helps seal between the 2 doors never stays closed and so every time I close the fridge the stupid plastic thing hits the door and I have to manually close the seal to close the door (you'd understand once you see the fridge) 2. The ice maker always has problems. I use it daily, clean it regularly and it always clogs. I manually get ice now which defeats the purpose. The mechanism in the ice maker isn't very good. 3. SPACE!!! So at first 28 cu ft seemed amazing however, it would be great if the fridge was designed better. Nothing ever fis (like bottles) so everything has to be turned sideways and even though it claims "gallon sized" on the right door, you can fit like 2 milk jugs and nothing else, so there isn't enough space. Literally the only "tall" space is about a 2ft by 1ft area on the middle right shelf. The veggie drawers are really small too. 4. Ice in the freezer. After 8 months of working perfectly, all of a sudden my freezer drawers are lined and the drawer hinges caked with solid ice! Absolutely no explanation for it. I've cleaned & defrosted the freezer multiple times since and it keeps building, so all my food in the freezer is lined with ice. I read the manual, checked the temperature and nothing seems to be wrong, but the actual freezer performance itself. 5. Freezer usability. The concept of drawers is nice and easy, so this is more of a personal complaint in general, but because they are drawers and require some force to close & seal them correctly, it's really hard to make popsicles or ice cubes since the drawer makes everything spill. And although it's nice that the drawers are deep, you have to stack everything which makes it difficult to find what you're looking for. 6. The stupid water dispenser. Let's just say... it's not an inherent thing to use. I've had SO many guests (who are quite tech savvy & smart) spill water everywhere or shoot themselves right in the stomach because of the poor design of the water dispenser. I can go on and on about the problems I'm having, but in the end I wish I bought a different refrigerator. I like the idea of the 4-door French Door, but I'd look for one that has a better design, better quality & easier to use.

I will never buy another LG Product!
from Dallas, TX, USA
Comments about LG White French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:
I had another LG refrigerator that just after the warranty expired the motherboard went bad. After several service repairs that never lasted more that a few months, I finally got rid of it. Had another refrigerator (not LG) for several year with no issues. Remodeled the kitchen and moved the good fridge to the garage and bought this new LG. It was fine other than the size of the ice storage, small quaintly of cold water from the door, and the fact that water will not dispense if the other door is open. Now the fridge is a few year old and just about all the door shelves have broken, and the left door center seal hinge has broken which requires you to replace the entire door. The way the seal is designed makes closing the door more difficult than I would like and now that the seal hinge is broken it is really a pain to close. Not very happy now, wish I would have gone with a different brand. So why no more LG for me? I also bought the top end front loading washer and drier and my cloths don't come out as clean and as dry as they did with any others. After ten thousand dollars of LG appliances, I would have expected a whole lot more for a whole lot longer!

This product is just what I was looking for

I love everything about this product so far. It's very roomy, it's so bright when you open the doors. I love how it is set up, wide enough, well thought out for family use. I love the 2 freezer drawers. Very nice! Only had for about 2 months, but so far I'm loving it!

Ice maker has problems
from Augusta, GA, USA
The ice maker broke and had to be replaced completely within the 1 yr. warranty period. Periodically, with the replacement ice maker, there are frequent times that the ice, when dumped, will not break into cubes, leaving a tray size of unbroken ice in the basket. Consequently you cannot get ice from the dispenser without taking the basket out, breaking up the ice, and replacing the basket. This has become quite annoying.

Great Design, Performance & Looks!
Well thought of design. Besides being great looking, it is easy to organize items in the refrigerator part and the drawer/freezer parts. The ice cubes and water are efficiently placed and I love the taller water dispenser - can easily get water into water bottles without a hitch. This refrigerator keeps all items at a perfect temperature. The glass shelves and divided drawers are a great design. It even has a rubber strip on the bottom that helps stop dust from going under the refrigerator. LG sent an e-mail after registering this product with many helpful hints and videos. It proves that LG cares about the performance of their products and wants to please their customers.
The two drawer freezer is very efficient
from Walnut Creek, CA, USA
This refrigerator is a well thought out refrigerator. There is no space in the refrigerator that was not thought out. From the ice maker in the door, to the adjustable shelves and the two drawer freezer. We had a side by side before and you could never find what you wanted in the freezer without everything falling out on you feet. With the two drawer freezer you can put frequently used items in the top drawer and everything else in the lower drawer. It makes everything easy to find without falling on your feet.

Service and delivery comments:
The delivery guys were great! This unit is big and to get it in the back door, they had to take the refregerator doors off to get it in. The guys were very careful and got it in without any incidents. Then all was put back together with care. Thanks for the good job.
Large capacity, easy to access
from San Jose, CA
I have a narrow kitchen and the LMX28988ST is perfect for the space. The double upper doors allow access to the food without completely blocking the kitchen. The double freezer drawers makes it easy to find what I am looking for. I originally didn't want an ice maker, but now that I have one, I can't imagine going back to living without it.
This product is very good
from New Jersey, USA
We purchased this refrigerator when our old one stopped working. It was in stock and I could take it right home. It has fantastic storage inside. We love the large bottom freezer's. We have had no problems with it. The only complaint I have is the water from the dispenser shoots out with a great force and splashes on the door panels. This gets annoying. Otherwise we really like the refrigerator.
Makes our kitchen look beautiful
from Arlington, TX, USA
Its an absolutely beautiful refrigerator! It's the first thing people notice when they walk into our kitchen. The size is wonderful, and the 2nd freezer drawer is the best feature! Yes, as previously stated, the ice maker is not huge. We found using the extra bin provided in the top freezer drawer is ideal for storing extra ice. When we know we will have extra people over, we just transfer the ice from the ice maker to the bottom bin and it works great. The ice re-fills quickly! The only negatives I have found in 6 months is that sometimes the ice maker does "freeze" up. I have to open the door and wiggle the ice down to make it work again...but no big deal. The biggest negative is that sometimes if you open the right door, then the left door, then close the right door before the left door the small piece in the middle does not flip all the way up and will bang into the closed right door. We are just very cautious to make sure the small piece is flipped all the way up before closing and its not a huge deal, but just kind of annoying. Other than that, GREAT refrigerator! No big complaints! :)
Beauty and Great Features
from Canon City, CO
Beautiful refrigerator! Have to get used the the french doors, though. The double freezer drawers are the best feature! So glad you have them. Ice tray clogs up sometimes as in-door ice makers do, but being able to get into it makes it easy to break apart. (Also, wish they had self-cleaning stainless steel.) I would buy another, but hope I don't have to. I would look for a better sale price.
