I just had this new model Advantium installed to replace a 2001 model. I hope I will love it as much as I did my old one. It is very nice looking and the inside is larger than the old model although it fit in the exact same space so installation was fairly easy! I'm still getting used to the new controls and I miss the "manual cook" button from the old one. I'm not sure about the new "convection" mode and it seems like the cook times are longer on this new model but so far it is cooking very nicely. I'm one of those people addicted to my Advantium so I hope it works as well as my previous model! I'll update after a few weeks of use.

I would not have chosen a microwave/vent fan combo, but I had no choice. The microwave heats and reheats decently, but its venting capabilities are useless for anything being cooked on front burners. For example, if I'm grilling burgers or doing high-heat wok cooking on either of my front burners (the largest and most powerful burners), I must blow the smoke that is produced toward the back of the range. If I don't, the smoke rises to the ceiling and sets off smoke alarms! Even if I do blow the smoke, not all of it is captured and I still run the risk of setting off the alarms.

Great appearance and works good!

I was looking for a handle that matched my oven and frig handles and this one did. I love that you push one button and it starts to work depending on what button you pushed- with my previous microwave I had to always push start after I programed it. I love the sensor. The fan is quiet compared to my old microwave.

Great Microwave then died after 19 months
from Flint, MI, United States
This worked great for us until a cup of hot chocolate was warming up and it was as if it slowly lost power and never turned on again.
Especially for the price, this microwave has great features and an elegant look. So far it has worked great and matches my stainless steel appliances nicely... very happy.
Stopped Heating Food

I bought this microwave 18 months ago and it has already stopped heating the food. All the display, lights and turntable works but will not heat the food. Do not buy!!

About Me Gourmet Cook
We had an older version of this in our previous house and just installed this model in our current house. (Obviously we found it worth the premium over a standard microwave.)This is not like any other microwave on the market. Yes, it does everything a standard microwave does and it does them really well. For example, the "reheat" setting has options for soup, plate of food, beverage, etc. The sensors work really well to get each food to just the right temperature. But the magic of this machine is its ability to essentially bake like an oven, without the need to preheat. Everything cooked on its black pans turns out just like it was in a regular oven - pizza, chicken nuggets, French fries, fish fillets, lean pockets, you name it. It is also perfect for reheating when you want the food to stay crispy, not get soggy like in a normal microwave. We use it to heat baguettes and other bread all the time and it comes out perfect, not like it would in a normal microwave. My only complaint is the flip side of what I love about it - because it has so many functions and features, it takes a while to learn where to go on the controls to do what you want to do. In this model I can tell they tried to simplify it from the precious model we had, but it still isn't intuitive. One note on installation... Putting the unit in was pretty straightforward but did require two people as the unit is quite heavy. However, it does require a heavy duty outlet like the one a stove or dryer plugs into. We had to have an electrician add this for us as our old microwave had a simple three prong plug.

Excellent! Just purchased & I love it from ease of use in cooking, to Auto Nite Light, to surface light.
