I LOVE to vacuum ever since I bought one of these beauties. They're elegant to look at, a breeze to use/empty/carry around, and the battery is going strong and lasts plenty of time for me to vacuum about 600 square feet of vacuum area (maybe more but that's all the vacuuming I need to do in my 1200sq ft home. I ADORE my Platinum Linx. I hope they NEVER stop making them. So they probably will. Get your while you can. Is it perfect...no. But nothing is. It gets blocked up from time to time, but it's not difficult to unblock and it has great suction for a vacuum this size and cordless to boot. And this is coming from a home with a huge, shedding dog. Enjoy!

I've got nothing but positive things to say about my Hoover stick vac. It's been an awesome piece of machinery if it wasn't for a couple issues. 1. The battery is absolutely horrid. Honestly, I don't know why there are so many problems reported with them. In under 3 months it would barely hold a charge and, since then, I basically do a room at a time because that's all the battery will get me. Thankfully I have hardwood floors through most of the house, as it seems to last a bit longer without the beater brush running. 2. There isn't any cord backup! Honestly, would it have killed the designers to put some kind of "backup" on the vacuum for when the battery fails? I realize this is a "cordless" vacuum, but you really miss that cord when the battery dies on you in under 10 minutes. 3. The replacement cost of the battery is absolutely ridiculous. $70 is the price of most corded stick vacs, so why would I bother replacing the battery in my hoover now that I've seen how inconvenient a cordless can be? I've got a small corded stick-vac (basically a hand vac on a stick) that cost me 1/3 the price of the BATTERY for my hoover and it has better vacuum pressure than my hoover. The only thing it's missing is the beater bar, which I need for my throw carpets. Long story short, my Hoover was once the king of my household. Now, due to the horrible battery, it's been replaced by a dirt devil stick-vac that costs 1/3 the price of the Hoover's battery alone. After 3 months the only work my hoover saw is when one of my throw carpets needs done, because that's about all the battery will handle. Granted I've had it for a couple years now, but the horrible battery has never been worth the expense of the vacuum.

Nice cordless vacuum but battery doesn't last
from Houston, TX, United States
I got this for Christmas 2013 and it's working great for about a year. However, starting this year, I noticed that the battery started to go bad. I used to be able to use it for about 15 mins at a time, then it went down to about 10 mins, then 4 mins, and now it barely lasts 2 mins. I have tried resetting like what they've suggested but it didn't help. I think the battery is shot. For the price of this vacuum, I expected it to last much longer than a year. Loved the vacuum but disappointed with the quality esp when the battery is so expensive (almost half the cost of another vacuum that might last more than a year).
Did not last 8 months!
We have barely used our vacum, and the battery already won't take a charge. I have tried everything to get the battery to charge with no results. This is the single worst battery I have ever had in any product I have owned. Beware of this product.
Loved it at first but then

I loved this for about the first 8 months and then I started having the same problem it seems others are having. The battery says its charged but when I go to use it it drains very quickly.
LOVE The Vacuum, But Battery Life Quickly Died
from San Diego, CA, United States
I've had this vacuum for a year and it works great. I love not chord! The battery life per use was excellent in the beginning, but now suddenly the time per use is getting shorter and shorter. I can't even get the living room done after a full days charge.

Handy tool if you have hardwood floors and dogs.
from Florida, United States
I am quite happy with the performance of the vacuum. I usually purchase spare batteries for my cordless tools. When I saw the price for a spare battery for this vacuum I could not believe how expensive they are. If I am not mistaken it is about half the purchase price of a complete unit new.
Battery life a real problem
from Marblehead, MA, United States
I bought this vacuum less than a year ago and use it occasionally for very light clean-up in my kitchen and dining room areas - so I'm very disappointed that the battery is already shot (I tried all the trouble-shooting steps and no blue light, nothing) and frankly shocked at the cost of a replacement battery for what seems to me to be a production/quality issue on Hoover's end of the equation. Definitely not the quality I expected or paid for.
WAS a loyal Hoover purchaser...not sure anymore
from Philadelphia, PA, United States
I was originally very happy with the Hoover Linx Cordless. So happy that I bought my parents one too. Now, like so many others, we have batteries that barely hold their charge. For the cost of a new battery, I'm thinking I should just take my chances on a different vacuum brand rather than invest in a new battery. VERY disappointed in Hoover. They USED to make very reliable products. Doesn't seem that way anymore. So disappointed!

I've had my hoover for only about 6 months and the charger/battery has already failed. Of course Hoover customer support isn't 24/7. Is there anything more frustrating than a broken vacuum when you have floors that need a good vacuuming?
