I absolutely love this washing machine. I have owned it now for 6 weeks and have had no problems. My clothes come out clean and fresh smelling with no residue whatsoever. I like the fact that it adjusts water level based on load size so that water isn't wasted. The fabric softener seems to work better because my clothes come out much softer than my old machine. There will be some wrinkling due to the spin cycle being faster than conventional washers. You can use the wrinkle control or hand wash cycles to decrease the wrinkling. My only knock on this machine would be that the entire wash time is about and hour. That doesn't bother me but some people may think that's too long. I would definitely recommend this washing machine.

I have had this washer for 6 months and I hate it! I wouldn't give It any stars if I didn't have to. It may be water efficient and probably the reason why your clothes are never clean. I've had to wash my clothes more than once and that's still not enough to get your clothes clean! Without the agitator it just doesn't do the job. I've always had a Maytag washer/dryer and was never disappointed until now.

Comments about Maytag Bravos X MVWX500XL Lunar Silver Top Load Washer:
Only worked so so for 3 years. Now won't spin clothes dry. I've read lots of horrible reviews on this - look around. Rather than throw any more $$$ into it, I'm cutting my losses and getting a real washer. My wife complained from day one that clothes were not getting clean and don't dare put anything black in there, you have to run it through a separate cycle afterwards. The only thing positive is that it looks nice standing there.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Weird but good!
By Max the roommate, LOL!

My roommate bought the Bravos X set on the recommendation of the salesperson. I've sold appliances for years in the past and always swore with Whirlpool and their "Super Surgilator Agitator" when it came to washers. I was very skeptical of this machine because there's no agitator AT ALL, LOL! Instead, the bottom plate of the drum IS the agitator! It uses the weight of the wet laundry to make it "scrub" dirt and stains away. So far it's proven effective. One thing about the machine though...it makes all kinds of STRANGE noises! It's level so that's not the problem. I just turn the TV up and problem solved! All in all, we're satisfied with the performance. Cleans the laundry like it's supposed to do.

Nothing but trouble
3 years old repaired three times , bad pump twice, rusted lid, now extremely noisy, bad bearing, not worth the cost of repair spent over $500 on repairs. Repairman says it is a peice of junk

Piece of garbage. Leaked and leaked and leaked. Never washed the clothes properly either. I am glad we are able to replace after two times of having to bring the repair man for the leaks. Stay away and avoid a huge disappointment.
Only 5 years old and has to be replaced. Two different repairmen would not even set up an appointment to try and fix. The spin cycle stopped and "with this model it would be cheaper to replace than repair!!!"

Maytag today.... not the same as yesterday

This machine worked fairly well for the first two years. Now, not even 3 years old, the spin cycle went out.Sounds minor right...wrong; doesn't spin because the gear case bearings wore out along with actuator failure. This machine was used about twice per week to wash for two people (not much). An authorized Maytag serviceman checked it and said it would be very, very expensive to repair and suggested buying a new washer. Called Maytag USA and they said sorry to hear about it, but things do wear out. Not really what I wanted to hear. She said there was only 1 year warranty on most parts; however 10 years on the stainless basket, yea right. Like the basket is going to go out. Very disappointed in Maytag and their warranties.

We have had nothing but problems with this washer. The one that was delivered didn't work, the pump would not come on. They tried to fix it, but it lasted only about 2 days. Then they can back out, tried to fix it again, but we told them to replace it. The second one that was delivered, 3 days later, worked for about 2 weeks and a gear under the drum broke. It was repaired and the washer worked ok for the last year, but always had a problem engaging the spin cycle. Now it don't work at all. The repair people want $100.00 just to look at it, another $100.00 plus parts to repair it, if it is a minor fix. If it's a major fix, it will be $200.00 plus parts. Either way it's going to cost at least 200.00 to fix and I can get a new Whirlpool for about 400.00. This is my last Maytag.
This washer is 5 years old

This washer is five years old, I am a 65 year old single woman and yesterday ( according to a service tech ) the transmission has gone out. I do maybe two small loads per week. Now it may cost $ 600.00 to repair? Seriously ?I'll go buy a new washer for that amount!

I actually purchased this machine in June 2013 and I finally registered it, LOL. I love the fact that it is very water efficient and has so many optional settings. Just yesterday, I did have to get it repaired though. It was making squealing/grinding noises while running. The repairmen came out and were able to fix it in 45 minutes AND, it was all covered under my warranty WOO HOO!!
