Comments about Whirlpool Duet WFW97HEXR Cranberry Front Load Washer:
Our WFW97HEX washer and WED97HEX dryer was installed on 6/5/12. I never write reviews. But this washer and dryer is so amazing I just had to write to let everyone know. It is the BEST!!! Adding detergent to your wash doesn't seem like a big deal until you don't have to do it anymore. With this washer, all you have to do is put your wash in, close the door and press a button. That is it!This washer allows you to (very easily and mess-free) fill a removable detergent dispenser cartridge with 18.5 oz (approx 36 loads of wash) of liquid detergent that is then dispensed automatically as needed for your particular load of wash. You never have a mess to clean up. If you do not want to use this feature, simply remove the automatic dispenser cartridge and use the compartments for powdered detergent, fabric softener, and bleach. We have done many loads of wash. I have washed one or two single delicate items all by themselves, a load of delicate items, extra large loads, small loads, mattress covers and sheets, bulky items, big loads of towels. Nothing has been torn or abused. Every load has come out clean and fresh smelling. After I'm finished using the machine for the day, I wipe the water off the gasket and keep the washer door opened. This washer and dryer is very, very simple to use. They are both extremely quiet. The dryer does an excellent job. The best part about it for me is that it has an extra low setting for delicate items, and I no longer have to hang many of my clothes on a line to dry. I have not yet had an opportunity to use some of the special features.Bravo and thank you Whirlpool for making a great washer and dryer!!!

About Me Occasional User
Purchased this washer in June 2008. It was recently damaged from water entering the basement and I was looking to replace it with a similar model. It cleaned well, although the cycles were long. The door was kept open to avoid mold from forming. A problem many owners described. This time I noticed all of the comments about torn clothes. I was always puzzleed about how my clothing would tear. New underwear, new sheets, all of good quality, would come out with holes, tears. One pair of pants shredded. It was not a new pair, so I attributed that item to age. After reading the comments, now I understand why the clothing was torn. I just didn't believe that a washer could tear clothes. I had never experienced that before and I have used many washing machines. In addition, this was probably the most expensive one that I had ever used-over $1000.00 dollars. Unfortunately, I had never looked into the situation because of lack of time. Just thought I should verify what others are saying. Even the other Whirlpool models have this complaint. Whirlpools needs to correct this. I'll be looking for another brand for a new washer. I'll pay more attention to the comments before purchasing next time.
