We purchased this washer in Aug, 2011and have no regrets. It cleans very well, better than our old agetator washer. It is very easy to load, the options you can select from is far superior to most all washers in this price range. Looked at a front loader, and this made more sense as I wasn't stooping all the time to unload and I didn' t have to buy a $200+ pedistal. I've washed large loads such as our comforter, and smaller loads like a single shirt and they both came out great. Less time to dry. You have to read the manual. This is different than what you're used to.

This washer is, without a doubt, the WORST purchase I've ever made. AWFUL! Unless you wash everything on "Bulky", your clothes don't get clean. I've had clothes come out of the washer with dirt still on them! That means, to me, that water didn't even touch them since the dirt and clothes were not even damp. But, washing everything on Bulky has added about 40% to my monthly water bill. Also, if you don't balance everything JUST RIGHT, the washer will just shut off. It's loud and, even on bulky, doesn't do HALF the job that my 25 year old "other brand" washer did. I wish I could have brought that with us when we moved. If I could give this ZERO stars, I definitely would have. I dread doing laundry now, but I'm stuck with it since we paid a fortune for it! So, like the title says, if you're thinking about possibly purchasing this piece of junk, do yourself a favor and DON'T!

Comments about Maytag Bravos HE White Top Load Washer:
Felt the electronics are not State of the art. Which may be the reason why they do not carry the same Warranty as other elements in the appliance.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

After enduring the NOISE, look forward to grease all over your floor and then puddles of water. When is a REPUTABLE MANUFACTERER GOING TO MAKE A DECENT PRODUCT AND THEN STAND BEHIND IT???? This machine is only 5 years old and useless, probably like all the other Maytags out there.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Have had for a couple years but didn't like the washing machine from day one. Should have been taken back but oh well. Doesn't wash well at all. Have to wash multiple cycles for cloths even moderately dirty. Had trouble with the lid lock mechanism many times and it's totally broken now. The machine has been discontinued as far as I can tell but DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE if you find one even if it's cheep!! They should recall and replace this model if they want to keep customers and a good upstanding name.

This washing machine should definitely be recalled. It is so loud that I can't enter the laundry room because it hurts my ears. During some construction in our home workmen were frightened when they heard the washing machine and wanted to know what it was. Last week oil started to squirt out onto the floor from underneath the washer. Now I can't use it and we have to replace it after less than 5 years. When I Googled the machine I could not believe how many people had the same problem. What does it take to recall a bad product?

To bad this has Maytag name on it. It makes awful noise when washing a load of clothes. They should of recalled this model and fixed its issues. It now a dead Maytag. I do laundry once a week. for just 2. It should not of failed .No over loading and yes He soap.

I bought this washer 3 years ago and like many of the reviews I have recently read online (started at the 3 years mark) the washer got louder during the spin cycle and the stopped working. Its not as though this was a "Cheap" purchase. And of course the manufacturer warranty is limited - however OBVIOUSLY the manufacturer is aware that this is an ongoing issue is as I easily googled the issue and found tons of similar complaints. Im currently filing complaints with the BBB and CFPB as I do not think it is acceptable to have to purchase a new washer after only 3 years, - buyer beware!!!!

We bought this washer 4 years ago. Just recently it stopped spinning and draining the water. Everything is left soaking wet in there. Does not matter what wash cycle we use, IT WILL NOT DRAIN ANYMORE. Time for a new washer and I do believe we will steer clear from Maytag from now on.
Doesn't get clothes clean

We bought this a few years ago and are finally replacing it with a front-loading machine after much frustration. The glass lid lets us see exactly what's going on. We call it swishy-swishy. The clothes never or rarely actually turn over in the wash so the clothes on top are always on top and never get washed. The clothes on the bottom get ground to death by the bottom plate. It's particularly bad for loads like jeans, the ones on top may not even get wet! We've tried everything from adding more water or even washing everything on bulky load setting with marginally better results. The only thing that seems to wash half normally on a "Normal" wash setting are light weight materials like socks and underwear. We called Maytag thinking that the electronic load sensor may be defective but they offered no help. They said that it was designed to work that way! The amount of water this machine uses may be fine for a front load machine but it just does not work with a top loader.

My mom bought this washer less than 3 years ago, and it already needs new bearings. The repairmam said it would cost over $500. He said everyone who owns this machine has the same problem. Worthless!
Wouldn't buy again
