This was a replacement of the LG dishwasher that came with the house we purchased. The LG dishwasher was only 9 months old since the previous owner's had replaced everything in the house before it was sold - it was a flipper's house. Everything bad you hear about the LG's are true. My husband says the L G stands for LONG GONE since that is what we did with it. The kitchen Aide is quite - very quite sometimes have to look at the light on it to see if it is running. This is good since the house is open concept. Washes dishes very good. I don't wash the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. It washes everything including baked on and dried on things. Has different wash cycles and can turn off heat dry. Which is very important if you put plastic on the bottom rack. You can fit pots, pans, plastic containers, and dishes in this one. Silverware section can fold up for more larger serving ware and spoon or can be removed if more dishes and pots need room. I use the fold out top to put my knives in. This dishwasher brought back my sanity after fighting with the home warranty people for 6 months over a defective new LG dishwasher. Plus since we know the people at lowes where we purchased this dishwasher I got it at a great price. So don't buy LG but for the same price purchase a Kitchen Aide and have less head aches.

Dishwasher purchase disaster! End of an era I am sad to say!

I have been married for 35 years and have only had Kitchen Aide dishwashers and I grew up with Kitchen Aid Dishwashers as my mother always had them. I purchased this dishwasher in October 2013, to replace my existing Kitchen Aid dishwasher. From day one it would not heat the water at all, the heated dry cycle produced no heat as well as the Jet Dry would leak all over the inside of the dishwasher. The cycle would be 3+ hours for the normal cycle. I placed a warranty service call and the dealer I purchased it from replaced the control board and the soap dispenser. This did not correct the problem so they agreed to replace the dishwasher. I am thankful that they stood behind their sale of this product as obviously the quality that Kitchen Aid is known for is gone. I decided not to take a chance on another Kitchen Aid so I replaced it with Bosch which works wonderful. I am sad to say that this is an end of an era for me - I will never purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance and I have had all Kitchen Aid kitchens for years.

Not what we hoped for

We bought this dishwasher 4 years ago for our new home. Since that time we have spent approx. $600 in repairs for new racks/brackets (plastic parts for the top rack kept breaking). Now our top rack is no longer cleaning. At this point, I'm thinking we cut our losses and look for a replacement rather than pay for more repairs.
First if I could have given it a lower score I would have. My wife and I paid over $1000.00 for this dishwasher 4 years ago. It seems that every 6 months we are required to replace the wheels as they seem to break / dissolve. Now we are dealing with a leak and the screen that covers the blade is dissolving.
Decent washer, horrible upper rack design

Upper rack adjusters are fashioned from very poor plastic that frequently fail. Always have spare parts (W10350376) on hand else you'll be hand washing more often then you would like.

We purchased this product new 4 years ago. After the first year (like other customers who posted feedback) the cheap plastic parts on the top rack broke. We repaired and about 1.5 years they broke again. This week, the unit has stopped working altogether. Total piece of junk and it wasn't a cheap unit when purchased. No one needs this much aggravation from a new appliance. KitchenAid should be embarrassed.
Didn't last very long.

This was installed as a upgraded appliance package when I bought the house 3 years ago. Two weeks ago the pump went out. I had a GE at my last home for ten years and it's still going strong. I thought KitchenAid was a better product, not so. No warranty, $400 to repair.

Upper Rack Problem
The dishwasher upper rack has been an issue about 8 months after purchase. The parts are plastic and have broken. I too found out that they would not cover under warranty. Had to purchase parts in order to conveniently use the product properly. Hopefully, they will fix this issue with future products and gain back customer confidence.
AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!
By AJ, who wants a dishwasher that works!

We bought our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS30FXSS5 3 years ago. It cleaned dishes very good for about the first year, then we started noticing that our dishes weren't getting clean anymore. Since then we have tried all sorts of recommendations. But nothing has worked. We've also has problems with the control panel losing power. Luckily, this issue is well known and we found that by toggling the circuit breakers (on our electrical panel) back and forth, this somehow brings the power back on. In summary- Too much pain owning this product. We wished we never bought it and are currently shopping for a replacement.
Great Dishwasher for the price

So far so good. Although the basket clips are easily breakable - I haven't had many other issues. The dishwasher's sanitation cycle is my favorite for my kids' stuff (nipples, cups, paci's) and does the job well! Not only that - its extremely quiet! :)

I love this dishwashwer
from Napa CA
i recently purchased this dishwasher to replace my former Kitchenaid dishwasher that was about 12 years old. The upper rack has adjustable dividers including a divider that snaps down to support wine glass stems I can load more dishes. The dishwasher is so quiet I had to open the door to see if it was actually running. It does a fantastic job at cleaning. I would highly recommend this model.
