My family has been using this dryer for two months now, approximately 8 loads per week. This gas model dryer is quiet, quick at drying clothes and very quiet. We had one issue with the dryer drum belt popping off when I turned the drum manually from the inside while I looked for a particular shirt to pull out first, but the Maytag man came out and had it back in place in less than 10 minutes. No issues since, no strange noises. Dryer lint trap is easy to clean and clothes come out dry, free of lint, and not burning hot.It took a few loads and some instruction manual reading to get used to the "cool down" feature, but my wife and I like it. having burned my fingertips on hot clothes using our last dryer, this feature is nice to have. If you- or your dogs that prefer to lounge under hot clothes- like them hot when you pull them out, just stop the dryer earlier. Overall, we are very happy with this model and the customer service at the warranty company.

Large capacity and lighted, large, easy access is great! However, the door handle is hard to grip to open. Some of the glue on the door seal continued to oose onto the door frame for a while and was difficult to pick off. (I wonder if was needed in the place it left.) The sensor is great for most clothes, but even on the driest setting, it doesn't sense 6 -12 damp sock cuffs. Finally, I am disappointed that in order to use the sensor, I have to have the alarm and restart going on loads that I'd rather be able to leave when dry (for instance when leaving the house for the day). The price was acceptable, but the dryer doesn't fully live up to it's advertised function.

"Dried Really Fast"
By The Shopper
from Montoursville PA
I bought this a little over a month ago and was thrilled with the first couple of loads of clothes that I dried. They came out dry in a lot less time than my old dryer. However, my load of towels and wash cloths came out of the drier all picked and pulled. The terrycloth was grabbing on to the heat sensor in the drum and the 2 metal strips on the sensor were pulling runs in my wash. My serviceman put in a new sensor and so far it appears the problem has been solved. I'm glad my towels and washcloths were not expensive ones.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Within month very loud, dealt with it cause I heard in the reviews that it tends to happen. 3 months later bad bearing and told to replace motor, had to prove that it should be under warranty, still wouldn't fix. Last maytag

I have had my dryer about 6 weeks now I am so glad I choose a Maytag gas dryer. I love the filter being on top of it. I can reach it and take the lint out so much eaiser than my old dryer. Thanks Maytag for making me very happy!!!!

My wife and I are impressed with the over all performance characteristics of this machine (along with it's matching gas dryer)which did replace a 15 year old Maytag Neptune stack unit. The capacity, exceptionally low sound level, speed of operation, and the enhanced nature and amount of options on the machine are incredible as compared to our former unit.
Replaced a 15 year old stack unit - Maytag Neptune - with this model, along with the matching washer. My wife and I are thrilled at the absolute differences in: volume (capacity) of both; quietness; over effectiveness and speed at which a laundry cycle is completed. (Clothes come out cleaner than before). Additionally, we are very impressed with the numerous options afforded us on both machines, vis-a-vis the Neptune.

Moved into our new home three years ago, knew I would soon need a new dryer. So, had a gas drop installed during construction ready to go. I have now replaced my electric dryer with the gas and it works great..

No Frills Dryer

Wanted a dryer with just your basic drying features, which this one has. Overall it is a good dryer, except it is not quiet. It is located in the basement and I can hear it running on the second floor.
