Purchased Jan. 2011. Love the clean and simple lines of this DW. It is easy to keep clean. I use it about 3x week, and it does a great job on dishes, etc., tho I do tend to rinse pretty thoroughly before loading. The removeable utensil basket was a dealbreaker so this is a definite plus. There is a learning curve for achieving the best loading, but suspect that is true for any new DW. At startup, it makes some pretty loud banging noises, but it then quietens down. Now I don't notice that at all. Does a good job of drying, with some water left on the tops of cups that I feel is normal. The only real concerns: the top drawer feels flimsy when opening and closing, and that leaning against the DW activates the controls.

When filling, the unit makes a loud thumping noise that comes from the fill valve closing and opening rapidly. The noise can be heard throughout the house and resembles pipe rattling when a faucet is closed. The black plastic hot water intake line inside the dishwasher pulsates violently, but the water lines to the D/W are fine. After a few minutes, the wash cycle then goes normally.

Best Features of all Dishwashers
By Vonnie the Wizo Woman

Comments about KitchenAid White Built-In Dishwasher:
This is the best dishwasher that I have ever purchased. We own several rental properties so I have purchased at least 10 dishwashers in the past 12 years. The features I most love are the "rinse and hold" and the options the wash. I would recommend this dishwasher to all of my friends!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Such a quiet dishwasher

About Me Avid Cook
My 33 year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher took its last bow this year. I'd only consider another Kitchen Aid after such fine performance. When this dainty new machine first arrived, I wasn't sure about it--it's so much lighter in construction than my old darling, it needs something called "Rinse Aid" added to a little plastic portal, the soap door is a light plastic. Hmmm, the machine seemed too lightweight to be durable, yet it does a great job! This one has a "Normal Wash" choice which is the energy-efficient and low-water use choice, but takes over an hour to go through its cycle. I thought I'd never have time to wait for it, yet it's the option that I use the most often. There's also a one-hour choice that uses more energy and water, which I use if I'm really in a hurry for something, which turns out to be seldom. So, so far, so good. Here's to another 32 years!
Cleanist dishes and sparkling glasses !

This diswasher is used every day for all 3 meals. It is so easy to place large plates and small dishes. The cutlery section is so well placed and the containers to hold them are perfectly designed, no item falls through the holes. The noise level is closes to a whisper and never invades listening to the radio at the same time.

Comments about KitchenAid Classic Series Black Built-In Dishwasher:
While this Kitchen Aid is quiet, does a great job of cleaning and drying, it is terrible for loading. Plates don't stand up straight, and if I do get them to stand straight, they all flop over when I push in the lower rack. So far the best way I can find to load plates is through the center of the lower rack, but that means I can't get as many plates in and end up running the dishwasher more frequently. The pictures they show in the owner's manual of how to load the machine are laughable. The top rack is ok but not great. It should not be so difficult to figure out how to properly load this unit
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great value for the money

We had a KitchenAid dishwasher for more than 15 years that had to be replaced. This new one is an updated version of the old one, and we like it just as much. It's a good, basic dishwasher that cleans dishes well, is quiet, and easy to load.
Very quiet! Very effective!

badly designed top rack makes loading difficult and time consuming. Bottom rack could use a larger space in the back of the rack for placing small pots sideways.
KAClassic Series Black Built-in Dishwash

This dishwasher is used in an office every night. I'm glad it's quiet for daytime use. The drying could be a little better, but its works. I would recommend to a friend, and if I needed a dishwasher, I would purchased a KitchenAid product.

This is my second KitchenAid and I really like it. It is very quiet and easy to load. The rinse agent section is really easy to fill. The one thing is that the buttons are very sensitive and I accidentally turn it on from time to time.
