I use my new dishwasher almost everyday. I love how big the inside is and how I can move my upper and lower racks around to accommodate large pans. The silverware basket is great. The basket has removable tops to keep small items contained during the wash cycle. I love how quiet it is in my small kitchen. I read my manual and follow directions. The control panel is so sensitive, I barely have to touch it. I'm thrilled to own this machine. I forgot to order a control panel with a rinse and hold cycle, but I just use a quick short wash, and press cancel drain. I'm so happy to have this machine.

I had an old top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher that was 18 years old. It worked great execept the top dish rack rusted out and I could not find the part to replace it. My old KitchenAid was made in the good old USA and when I called KitchenAid to find the replacement part they told me 1) the part is no longer being manufactured and 2) hold on to this unit as long as I could because I will not be able to find the build quality like my old unit. So I held on for another 2 years till the rack fell apart. When the rack finally gave way - I had to replace my old KitchenAid. After weeks of research I decided to purchase the KitchenAid KUDS30ix based on my fist KitchenAid experience on build quality. I was sold on the KUDS30ix front panel display, the fact it had a food disposal, and a number of other features like my old KitchenAid. Since I upgraded my old oven and went stainless steel - I also went for that option as well- stainless steel. Out of the box the unit looked very nice, however I could tell by the weight and components of my new KitchenAid it was not built as well as my old unit. After installation and the first run of the unit the water would not drain - the only way to get the dishwasher to drain was to hit cancel/drain. That did the trick for a week and now the unit will not even drain. Also, 2 blue lights are stuck on - "Hi-Temp Scrub" and "3-Ho ur Delay". When the unit did clean my dishes it did not clean well. It left a white residue from the dish-washing liquid. I used a top name dish-washing detergent brand/pre-rinse and rinse-aid as suggested. This was the same dishwashing detergent I have been using for years in my old KitchenAid and I never had a problem.. So the white residue I feel is not due to hard-water or dish washing products. [...] I have already purchased another dishwasher a Maytag - MDB8959AWS. It has all the features of the KitchenAid and has been very highly rated by most people who have purchased the unit. The motor is also to be stronger then the KitchenAid's which I now know is a very important feature manufactures don't tell you about. Try and find on product literature - you cannot find and compare dishwashers.I was warned by a friend who purchased a similar KitchenAid unit and was very unhappy with the performance of her KitchenAid. I wish I had listened to her..... This brand has gone way downhill since manufacturing in China. The same may hold true for Maytag - at least the motor is stronger however.

Replacement Dishwasher for Previous KitchenAid
from Columbus, OH, United States
Comments about KitchenAid Superba Series White Built-In Dishwasher:
I purchased this dishwasher only because it appears to be our best option and recommended by the repair person who told us that KitchenAid was a brand that he would recommend. We were very reluctant because of our dissatisfaction with KitchenAid's handling of our complaint about the KitchenAid Beverage Center that we purchased when we bought the KitchenAid dishwasher we have just replaced. We hope that we did not make a "second mistake" by trusting KitchenAid and giving you a "second chance" to prove your reliability and dependability with our purchase of this dishwasher.

I purchased this item in July and LOVE it! My favorite is how QUIET it is. I don't know it is running. Easy to load and items come out sparkling. The perfect dishwasher.

My Bosch wouldn't dry the dishes this one is easy to use and works perfectly. Only thing is it doesn't hold as many dishes and although you can lower the top rack for taller glasses if you do the sprayer hits the dinner plates. Stupid design

I have used the dishwasher 4 times so far and are pleased with the results. It is very quiet and the dishes came out clean. My last Kitchen Aid lasted 25 years, so we will see if the quality continues!!! They should ask me in two years to update my review.
I never thought I would fall in love with an appliance...

But this one is so cool. I love the top silverware rack. It makes it so easy when you can group your silverware together and put it back in its proper slot in the silverware drawer when they are clean. The machine is so quiet and the dishes come out spotless. I can use less detergent and the machine uses less water. I can't wait for my next water bill to see my savings!

I have only used this dishwasher for about a week and a half, but it is the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. The dishes and glassware come out sparkling. Much better than the one I replaced. I am so glad I choose this dishwasher.

We bought one for our basement 1 year ago. We liked it so much we bought another one for out kitchen.
Disappointed in our purchase
from Michigan, United States
Our old Kitchenaid Dishwasher became ineffective due to human failure. Somehow a plastic bag got wrapped up in the chopper and after that our dishes did not come out clean. We fully understood we were the problem and not the machine. Prior to this issue the dishwasher had performed flawlessly. My DH didn't want to repair it and we were redoing our kitchen with stainless appliances, so it was time for a new dishwasher. This time we wanted no part of a dishwasher with a chopper so chose this model with the removable filter. Well, we are having the same issues as we had with our old dishwasher after it broke. Our dishes come out with grit on them and yes we use a rinse aid. This is so disappointing. This was not a cheap dishwasher. A consumers review agency gave the Kitchenaid dishwashers good reviews so we thought we were safe. Big mistake. Also, I do not suggest the stainless steel "finish" from Kitchen Aid. Because we were looking for specific features in each of our appliances, we could not find a suite from any manufacturer that met all of our needs/wants. We have three different brands of stainless in our kitchen and the dishwasher is the only one that is a pain to keep looking nice. With the other appliances all I have to do is wipe the spots with a damp microfiber cloth and then go over it with a dry microfiber cloth. I just use one cloth and wet one corner. This does not work on the Kitchen Aid dishwasher. If you clean just one area, you can tell where you cleaned it. The cleaner our appliance salesperson sold us does work on it, but you must apply the cleaner to the ENTIRE dishwasher and then wipe it off. If you try to use the cleaner just where the fingerprints or spills are, that area looks smudged. I am sorry, but this is the 21st century. People do not want to spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning. Needless to say we are so, so disappointed in this purchase. Who wants gritty dishes when they come out of the dishwasher, and who wants to spend so much time cleaning them? I suggest looking at other options. There is no way I can recommend this product. JMHO
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
