I have had this GE Washer Model GTWN4450M1WS for about a week. Done about 8-10 loads. As of today I like it very much. I like the fact that it has a real agitator. I like the fact that I can control the water level. I like the glass top so that I can view its operation. I also like the fact that the top does not lock, thus making it difficult to add things. Operates quietly. Does a good job. I would like to come back and review it again... after I have had it for a year. Please note that I bought a Maytag about 1 month ago and returned it very unhappy. Of course Maytag isn't Maytag these days. Washer was a top loader without an old fashioned agitator. They call it an infuser now... and it sits at the very bottom of the basket and does not move the clothes around like a real agitator. Plus you could not control the water level. And the hot water setting was barely lukewarm. Plus the top locked when closed so you could not change things around in any easy manner. Of all the models I looked at... This Washer Model GTWN4450M1WS has features that allow you to be more in control of your clothes cleaning. Just like it should be. I am hopeful that it will last a good long time.

Wish I had my money back. Even on maximum fill it's only 1/4 of a tub of water. Supposed to be either manual or automatic water level but the manual part does not work. The glass lid is nice, so you can watch the agitator beating your dry clothes. On the positive side, it is very quiet.

Comments about GE GTWN3000 White Top Loading Washer:
First of all, we have had nothing, but GE products that last us years and years. We have owned this washing machine for a few years now. It recently started breaking down. The problems seem to be minimal as in easy to fix, but caused large problems with overflowing.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I've never dreaded laundry like this before

We have had this machine less than 4 years and it has leaked for the last 6 months. It is a leak that is not cost effective to fix. Loud. Leaky. (one positive thing, I can choose my water level..)
Worst machine ever
from Yucaipa, California
I have had this washing machine for 40 months and I use it several times a week. It I've had this machine over three years and it is still running so that is the good thing. The bad thing is I wish it would just die so I could replace it. I should probably just call some metal scrappers and replace it anyway. I would never sell it to someone as a used machine. No one deserves my frustration. When it was brand new I called for service on it thinking it just never agitated. Come to fine out, it isn't designed to agitate. All it does is twist gently. The result? My clothes get tangled up in horrible knots. It rips embellishments off, tears buttons off, stretches arms on sweaters, tangles ties in sweatshirt hoods, stretches out socks, etc. Sometimes I don't think I'll ever be able to loosen my clothes enough to lift them out of the machine. It is an awful design. Sheets just are wound into a tight ball. If you want clean clothes and a happy laundry experience don't buy this machine!

Bought 2.5 years ago, loyal GE brand till now. Doesn't wash good, softener stained due to poor cycle. Knob fell off after warranty period. Very poor overall. Will not return to GE washers or dryers after this experience.

We bought this washer 2 years ago , its only us 2 adults , I load the washer dry so not to over load , well last week it started knocking ,like its unlevel I checked to make sure its still level , it is , so while its washing it knocks like its banging the tub , and vibrates some , its loud I checked to see if we removed the shipping rod , its no rod in the side ...Iam truley mad , this machine is only 2 years old ...old machines last for years ...Im ean it knock bang , knock bang .....yes its out of warrenty
This is by far the worst washer I have ever used! No matter how I try to place the clothes evenly in the washer at its start, the washer usually manages to get the clothes all to one side which requires a person to rearrange them for proper spinning. As for the spinning, this machine does a terrible job of that, too! More times than not, I have to re-rinse, drain, and spin the clothes (especially towels--even though I only put 5 in at a time) because there are soap suds left behind, and the clothes still have more water in them than what came out. This is a terrible machine! Do not buy it!
Better than what's available now
from Fort Myers, FL
My old fashioned GE washer was 7 years old when it bit the dust, but I miss it. This machine still has more of the features I wanted which were no longer available on other HE machines. I like that I can pause it (to soak clothes), and that I can choose the water level, and I think clothes get cleaner with an agitator.
