I have owned this washer now for 2 years and love everything about it. I use approximately 2 t. of HE soap. IT's all you need to clean your clothing well. I spoke with an appliance store and he told me to use the speed cycle unless the clothes are super duty dirty. I've been doing this and my clothes are so clean!

Purchased specifically for energy efficiency and, thus, reduced utility bills. So far, utility bills actually seem Higher :(. Cleans clothes adequately but not really better than my previous washer (a top loader). Haven't reached mud/ *real* dirt season yet, and am skeptical that the machine will shine then to really win me over. Seems harder on fabrics than previous machine, in all cycles. Perhaps this is due to the higher spin speeds?? Requires extra rinse(s) to produce satisfactory results. Seems this might negate any 'cost savings' which could purportedly be gained by using a front loader. Capacity smaller than previous top loader, requiring more loads to do the same job. This also seems to negate any potential cost savings from using a front loader. Requires HUGE amounts of upkeep (all per owner's manual and other materials received with machine): wipe door and seal dry after each use clean detergent and other dispensers weekly clean pump filter twice a month run tub clean cycle once a month (or three weeks in a row if odor has developed) clean inlet water filters as needed clean exterior of machine as needed Tub clean cycle requires use of liquid bleach - yuk!! End of cycle signal too soft, even on highest volume setting - cannot hear it unless immediately adjacent to washer. Owner's manual not at all clear about actual functions within cycles. This makes it more difficult to choose or modify a cycle to really satisfy one's own preferences. The lack of a warm rinse option in the regular cycle is a significant detriment IMHO. I want to love this machine, but don't, at least not yet. Sigh!

This machine is complete junk. It is properly balanced but still shakes very much.

Preset & custom wash cycles to save time. With steam & wrinkle care to save pressing. Load sensor determines amount of water & adjust to each cycle. All wash cycles have extra options of water temperature, spin speeds & soil level. Very quite operations!
In love...with a washing machine
from Dallas, TX, USA
Both my wife and I, We have both fallen. We have both the washing machine and the matching dryer. We have stacked them (using the stacking accessory) leaving more room in the utility room. We own several LG products and they all seem to have distinct sound features. That was the first thing we noticed with the dryer. The little song when the cycle is finished. The washer is easy to use, it has reduced our water use, and our energy use. We love that. Fabrics are cleaner, softer, and there's no residual musty smell. Installation was easy. Use is pretty straightforward (see comment below). It's a pleasure to use these appliances and the steam feature is really good. By way of constructive criticism, on both the dryer and the washer, the cycle programming is much more obscure than it needs to be, especially when using the steam features (really - uhh - cool). But, I wouldn't let that be a deal-breaker at all. These are phenomenal appliances. If you are reading reviews, you WILL have a nasty smell after wash cycles. About once per month, we drain the lines (which LG has made easy). It takes care of the problem. There's also a substance you can use to clean the gasket, etc. That also helps. Again, this is just maintenance with these. Don't let it stop you. Your clothes will thank you.
Great washer with great features
I love my new washer. I really like the steam features. I like the Allergiene feature for bedding. I do wish there was a choice for spin only. I sometimes rinse items by hand and would like to spin them a bit before hanging. Otherwise, I am completely happy with my purchase.I even love the tune it sings to tell me it's done.

I love this washer but it's the first nice one I've ever owned so I don't have much to compare it to. I like the pre-set options and that the temperature and rotation speed are changeable with any wash. I also like the pre-wash and extra rinse options. It does a great job being quiet AFTER it's bumped around for about 10 seconds. It makes quite a bit of noise while it's figuring out how to stabilize itself. Also, I wish that there was an option for more water during the wash because I feel like some spots and stains would come out with more water.
This is a great set of appliances

I bought the washer and dryer combo and have never been happier with the quality and abilty of any other product to clean my clothes. Thanks for the great product LG.

Had reservations spending $$$$ but it has been nothing but a pleasure. Clothes are cleaner but gentler than old-stye top load washer. Just make sure to use the HC detergent and keep the door loosely closed when not in use
A great washing experience

We owned this washer for about a year and we are completely satisfied with the quality and reliability of this washer. We also purchased the matching dryer and could not have been more thrilled with their performance. I would definitely recommend LG for all of your appliance needs because of their great reputation and their dedication to providing the best customer service. We will be using LG for all of our future appliance and electronic needs!

LG Steam Washer Performs!
I absolutely love my LG steam washer! Not only is it beautiful aesthetically, but it is impressive because it performs! On my first wash I could not help but stare at the machine while it adjusted its weight load and using very little water. But my clothes came out clean! There are various settings to choose from - you can go for the speed wash cycle or a longer wash cycle. I especially love the allergiene setting, a boost of steam that addresses allergens and gets my whites, sheets, comforters and towels extra clean and sanitized. I even washed my bed pillows and they came out like new again! Oh, and I can't fail to mention the cute song it plays when the wash is complete. There is so much about this machine that I love, I can't possibly tell it all. LG thank you. You produced an outstanding high-quality product that I truly enjoy.
