Features:

  • Efficient induction element for cooking quickly The Samsung Induction element boils water faster than gas or electric. Induction is also more efficient than radiant and gas ranges. Cook with the control of gas cooking, while you, your kitchen, and the cook top stay cooler thanks to Samsung induction technology.
  • Precise cooking control with SelectTouch™ SelectTouch™ allows easy and precise control of cooking power just like a gas range.
  • Cooktop stays cooler with induction Induction uses magnetism to heat cookware directly so the cook top stays cooler than gas or radiant electric cook tops. Only the cookware is heated, so the cook top, your kitchen, and you stay cooler.
  • Cooler cooktop for easy cleaning A cooler cook top means that food won't bake on to the range surface, making clean-up much quicker and easier than your average range.
  • Convenient built-in warming drawer The built-in warming drawer makes sure dinner never goes cold. With three convenient settings, you'll keep food at the right temperature and preserve moistness and flavor. And the handy multi rack offers seven different, adjustable levels for platters and pans of all sizes.
  • 4 full indiction cooktop elements Samsung combines extraordinary performance with incredible value by providing four full induction cooktop elements, a 5.9 cu.ft. Three-Fan True Convection oven, and a warming drawer.
  • True convection cooking with Surround Airvection™ Get faster, more even cooking with Surround Airvection™ 3-fan true convection cooking. It combines a true convection oven with a multi-fan system to circulate heat evenly throughout the oven. The on and off-fan control also keeps the temperature perfect.
  • 20 minute clean time with SteamQuick SteamQuick gives you a spotless oven in about 20 minutes with just the push of a button. Simply pour 10 ounces of tap water in the oven, close the door and press the Steam Clean button. After 20 minutes, wipe the oven clean and you're done.

I think I was the first to buy this unit at least in the USA. It's outperforms my expectations. Moving into a new home without natural gas, I dreaded going back to electric cooking. When my salesman told me about the product, I ordered it without hesitation. After using it a few times now, all I can say is WOW!. It does take a little time getting used to using the controls and finding what setting you need for the cooking you're doing. A little heat goes a long way especially with the new stainless cookware. The responsiveness seems better that gas and the performace is astounding. Using the power boost to boil liquids is amazing. My best purchase ever for the kitchen.

It amazes me when others give a 5-star rating and go on to complain about certain features of an item, especially when so many go by an "overall snapshot" of star level to choose a new purchase. If you're spending upwards of $2,000 on a range, do a little research first. I have many points, but will try to keep all brief & informational: I had this range for a month before making the difficult decision to exchange it. I LOVE the speed and accuracy of the induction cook top above any other feature. It's not too noisy. I did spend a lot on replacing all my favorite pots and pans in order to use the induction. There was a learning curve (NEVER fry on high heat!!!) but nothing too bad. I did not notice a huge difference with the convection features in the oven over the old non-convection range I replaced. Having three racks inside the spacious oven is a plus! The hidden elements in the oven are a great feature, although the "steam clean" option is only good for light cleaning as it doesn't remove anything baked on or greasy all too well. We did once have boiling water from pasta spill over on the stove surface, which to our surprise went between the glass on the oven door, leaving streaks that are unreachable to be cleaned -- surely that would look worse as time wore on! Even the black surface showing every smudge was fine: Cleaning it 3-4 times per day still beat cleaning those old coils - so it's all relative. None of these items mentioned were deal breakers to me, I could live with any or all of them, if that were the extent of it. At that point, the pros still outweighed the cons. What sealed the deal on returning this range for me, was the configuration of the burners. I use the stove top to cook for groups of 5-8 daily. There's only one large element (and really, no problem to find a pan fitting this, as others have mentioned,) but it's located in the front left quadrant, with the only other so-called "larger" element (7-8") in the back right. So with the controls taking up valuable surface space, the other two tiny 6" elements are placed diagonally between the two larger elements, with unused space on the back left surface. Perfect for holding the tea kettle, but otherwise useless. Sounds confusing, so here's an example: When I use a larger saute pan and a large pot on the only burners they fit upon, I CANNOT fit another pan on the stove. At all. It's a ridiculous design flaw that I tried and tried to come to grips with because I loved the induction so much, but after attempting to make a birthday dinner for hubby and having to alternate pans on the only burners large enough to accommodate the amount of food it takes to feed only 8 people, I couldn't fathom trying to face a holiday season of juggling pots and pans while entertaining. Don't get me wrong. With those two larger elements in use, you can still fit tiny pans on the others. For what? I don't know... If you're mostly baking or have a smaller family and can live with limited usable elements, by all means, consider this your 5-star review. Just boiling water for tea / Buying for looks over function? 10 stars! But if you want to prepare more than 1-2 items on the stove top per meal, sorry, just keep looking - or you'll be heartbroken like me. It's a real shame ... Samsung, take note: if there were 2 large elements spaced evenly enough to be useable or (dare to dream...) 5 induction elements on this stove, there would be no more searching & sales would skyrocket! That said ... Anyone interested in some gently used, high-quality pots & pans? Back to shopping for a range.

The Sliding Rack on this Range Will Collapse - Not good

Comments about Samsung 30" Stainless Steel Freestanding Electric Induction Range:

If you put more than 11Lbs on the sliding rack, it will collapse and fall to the bottom of the oven as will your food. The rack designed is such a way that it allows movement left to right (or right to left). This leaves enough slack that that rack will fall off the side supports. I recommend potential buyers go to an appliance store and check it out for yourself. Just push down on the rack and you will see it slips off the oven wall sides and falls down.

After 30+ years using electric ranges, we decided to have a gas line installed and give gas a try. I did weeks of research and decided this range had all of the features we wanted plus much more. We have not been disappointed in the least. My wife keeps remaking how beautiful the range is. This is our first convection oven so that is something new to get use to but so far, everything has turned our great. The top burners heat items much faster than the old electric range did. Overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase.

Comments about Samsung 30" Stainless Steel Freestanding Electric Induction Range:

Looking at the dials for each burner and reading the manual you would expect the burner flame to be highly adjustable. It isn't. The dials produce basically 2 results: Full on high or Low. There really aren't any other results you can get. So, you must find a burner that has either a full on high setting or a low setting that best suits your cookware and the dish you are making. It is thoroughly frustrating. The worst thing is that none of the burners will adjust low enough to produce an actual simmer. The right rear burner is described in the manual as "The right rear side burner provides precise cooking performance for delicate foods and foods that require low heat for long cooking times." It does NOT do this. You get a full boil even at the lowest setting. "Delicate foods" will burn. The convection oven is great. I enjoy it. It produces wonderful results. Still, the surface burners are what are used most often. The inability to adjust the flames makes it hard to cook some items. Using them can be a infuriating. Because of that I have recommended to friends that they do not buy this range. Look at other manufacturers.

My wife always complained regarding the end result of baked items in our previous oven. The convection feature has eliminated that situation. In addition to general cooking, she is called upon throughout the year, to baking desserts, etc., for our large family and many friends. The features of this Samsung oven have been a difference maker, with quality results. Another feature we enjoy is the 5th central burner, which accommodates a griddle for grilling. The supplied griddle has been a nice addition for changing up our regular menu, and such items as pancakes, have become a frequent plus. The clean-up is fast and easy. Happy with this purchase!

Comments about Samsung 30" Stainless Steel Freestanding Electric Induction Range:

The looks and features of this range were great. It had everything we were looking for at a great price. We loved that it had convection, warming drawer, slide out rack, neat cooking settings, 5 burners, wok grate and griddle. We were equally impressed when it arrived. Very nice looking. Now the reasons we had to sadly return it. We have a smaller kitchen and this range vents heat from the oven straight out over the burners. My wife has MS and is very sensitive to heat so immediately she said it wouldn't work. I tested it for myself and when I had a burner on and the oven on, it made me sweat, literally. We have a really powerful range vent hood, so that wasn't the issue, just bad design to vent oven heat straight at you. Next issue was that although the the cubic feet of the stove is a nice size, our standard pizza pan would not fit on the rack. The convection fan protrudes from the back of the oven and the racks angle up in the back to prevent a pan from hitting the fan casing. So when we put the pizza pan in it would actually touch the oven glass when we closed the door. Again, we feel just a bad design. The sliding rack however was awesome and heavy duty, just not deep enough for us. A final insignificant issue was that although it has a huge oven window, if you have something on the top rack, you can't see it. Typically when I broil something, I like to watch "Oven TV" so I don't burn my food. You could always put it on a lower rack to broil, but thought I would mention it. These issues may not bother everybody, I just noticed the lack of specifics in these reviews, so I hope this helps.

I've this range for about three years and though it performs very well with good power, the knobs break very easily. First it gets very loose, then if you examine the underside, you'll see they crack at the short stem that gets inserted into the range that controls the gas. I've replaced at least 6 of the knobs. Now, my range is out of warranty and I have no choice but to pay for another set of poorly designed knobs.

I bought this stove about a year ago. Within one month the main mother board broke. It took a few weeks to get it fixed. Now, one year later the oven's igniter broke, here's another few weeks to fix it. Was happy with it but now I'm just very frustrated and very nervous that this range isn't built to last. And it seems to break right before Thanksgiving each year. So, not very happy with Samsung right now. Just bought a refrigerator... it's not a Samsung!!!!!
