We use this every other day. We just put the dishes in and follow the instructions. No problems and you can use supermarket brand powder with a rinse aid. This fit our budget since we were upgrading but did not want to spend more than $900 and it has a lot of good features. We considered European brands but found an American brand that we are happy with.

I thought KitchenAid meant quality and chose this model over a competitor's dishwasher. This dishwasher looks good in my new kitchen, however the top rack cannot handle a regular load of glasses and cereal bowls. The wheels that hold the top rack in place fell apart. Currently I am doing dishes by hand because when I try to start the 2 year old dishwasher, it starts filling up, buzzes, and then immediately drains. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I am tempted to replace this appliance with a different brand. I cannot find a repairman that can come before Thanksgiving. The only reason I replaced my 10 year old (different brand) dishwasher was because I wanted quality and a stainless steel finish.

Best Dishwasher I've Ever Owned
By Edna Mode

Comments about KitchenAid Superba Series KUDS35FX Black Dishwasher:
We have been using our dishwasher for about two months now in our new home and I am so glad we chose a KitchenAid. I have owned a few other dishwashers, all of cheaper brands. I never realized a dishwasher could actually get dishes SPARKLING! It cleans better than any other dishwasher I've ever used, handles stuck on/burnt on foods well, and is very quiet. I have to walk up to it sometimes to hear if it is running. I am not the type who rinses my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Frankly, I have left a lot of food on dishes to test it, and they've always come out perfectly clean. It is also gentle on my plastic pieces. I use Casacde Advanced tablets with rinse aid in the tablet, and I get great results with my glass pieces.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Nice improvement from my previous washer
By S Clark

I have this unit built into a new home I bought. They layout of the racks is smart and fits lots, the controls are user friendly and hidden for a sleek look, and it does an awesome job of cleaning my dishes. At my old place I had a unit that was very old that I replaced with the cheapest option available - this unit is an significant improvement. It's also virtually silent. I love that I can do the dishes right before bed or watching a movie and not even know if i turned it on or not because it's so quiet. I'm not sure how much these retail for but I would buy it again if I had to!
Runs so quiet

When we purchased our dishwasher, we had no idea how quiet it was going to be. Our house is a open concept and was worried about the noise. You can't hear it run and it cleans amazing. Way beyond our expectatuons
How Quiet Is It?

It is so quiet that the first time I turned it on, it took me several minutes to realize it was ON and it was Running. Simply amazing. It runs like a charm and does a heck of a job washing and drying the dishes.I am impressed.
Great Dish Washer

I love this machine. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever had. The hidden controls have a lot of features but I basically use the automatic wash with the heat. It is simple to use and a great purchase.

Finally a good dishwasher that cleans. Loving the third rack and the integrated touch control. The pro wash cycle really tackles the food residue and stains well.
Broke after 1.5 year

Just to clarify my last review - we are having to pay $300 + to have the dishwasher repaired, not "replaced" as I said in my original review.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Broke after only 1.5 year
After spending over $1,000 for a dishwasher, I would expect it to last longer than 1.5 year. We replaced our Bosch with this dishwasher last May. Now, only a 1 1/2 later, we are having to pay over $300 to have it replaced. I thought I was paying for quality - I guess I was wrong. To say I am deeply disappointed is an understatement.
Just 2 of us, lightly used but pump & motor assembly broke

18 months of use. I have been a loyal KA fan, and have done 2 houses in the Architect Series. However this appliance has ruined my new oiled oak floors this round. Surprises me as this is not a cheap dishwasher --- and consumer reports usually rates them highly but I should have looked this one up carefully. Pump and motor assembly has died (if I can believe the tech, who I now don't really trust). 18 months of light use (just 2 of us). We bought it 2 years ago, had a master plumber install. Also, I'm not impressed with the repairman - he came the 1st time, said it was a "cracked" top arm without doing a diagnostic (I questioned that but gave him the benefit of the doubt). I should not have. His assessment was because the arm wasn't moving and was slightly curved. Now I know for this model the arms don't always move, depends on stage of wash cycle but he was convinced. He came back, replaced the arm and said "there, fixed", but I asked him to stick around and run the machine for a while and again - water coming out of the bottom. So we poked and pried under it, and he called the Kitchenaid back ... they instructed him how to do a diagnostic and it showed no faults, so somehow it was decided it was the pump and motor assembly gone. And that's going to be a $500 fix. We do a wash every 2nd or 3rd day - for 18 months. I'm very respectful of my machines and care for them. We did everything right. I'm hoping KA will step up and help - if not the floors, then at least make us whole on the machine repair. So sad, $200 in repair bills and the things still broken.
