I am very happy with my new 5 burner double oven gas range. I waited a long time to purchase a double oven range and did a lot of research before choosing. The KitchenAid had the most features for the price. Since receiving my range, I've only found a few things I don't like. One is the design of the knobs. The panel where the knobs attach is angled. While it looks nice, it reduces the surface area of the stovetop. You can get 4 pots on there, but they had better not be large ones. I also had to purchase a new 2-burner grill pan because mine would not fit on the top of the range. The burners are bit too easy to turn on. If I lean over the range (not while it's on, of course) to get a pot from the cabinet above, I bump at least one of the knobs and a message begins rolling across the panel telling me to check to see if the burners are off. One other thing that might not apply to anyone else - I live in an area where the power goes out frequently. My previous gas range burners would still operate when lit with a match. Not so with the KitchenAid. No power, no gas. Those issues aside, the range works beautifully and looks just as good. The ovens bake evenly and having 2 ovens is a dream. I will never own a single oven again. The controls are easy to operate and the glass display is easy to clean. Overall, the whole unit is easy to clean for a gas range. I ordered it in white to match my other appliances. I imagine the stainless would be more difficult to clean. The extending rack in the lower oven really makes removing heavy pots easier. I worried it would be difficult as the lower oven really is quite low to the floor. I find that I use the upper oven most often since I'm usually cooking for one. But the lower oven bakes two large trays of cookies evenly with the convection turned on. I don't miss the storage drawer as much as I thought I would, and it was worth losing the drawer to gain another oven. All in all, there are a few small things I would change, but I wouldn't give up my KitchenAid range for anything. Would recommend.

I think the double oven feature is great. I love the Cobalt Blue interior. But not worth giving up 8 inches of cooking space on top.I have had nothing but problems with this range for these 4 months I have owned it. The first range that was delivered had a faulty lower over door, that didn't seal properly. That range was replaced, and now I have come to discover the hard way that the upper oven in my new range is off by 50 deg. Not good when you are trying to bake that perfect cake – Ok that can be fixed, but what really makes me unhappy with this range is that the cook top space is tiny and the proportion is HORRIBLE. The design of this range has the knobs on an angle that consume about 6 inches of cook top space, plus the grills also start on an angle, removing about another 2 inches, so the depth of your cook top area is reduced by about 8 inches. It is hard to have two pans going at the same time on the same side, one they don't fit, and if they do, one will be close to tipping over because the grills end on an angle. If I am able to miraculously find two pans that will fit on the same side they are not centrally placed over the flame, because the design of the angled grates don't allow that. It is hard to just get on pan placed centrally over the flame without your pan tipping over and possibly causing a bad accident. WHAT A HORRIBLE DESIGN.I am a busy mother of two, I don't spend all day in the kitchen, but when I do I want to have enough space to cook my pasta, my chicken breast, and sauce at the same time, but I can't, pans don't fit properly.I am so disappointed, I was much happier with my old GE.

Stay Away from Kitchen Aid
Comments about KitchenAid 30" Black Freestanding Gas Double Oven:
We have had this for abut 3 years. It has always been a battle to keep the ovens working. Even under warranty the frustration of only having one oven ever work for any length of time finally convinced us that Kitchen Aid is making Junk. I can write a book on how the finish does not live up to the price paid (even on sale) or the flaky control panel. We are buying a Samsung or LG rather than try an repair an inferior Kitchen Aid.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

On first blush this stove appears to be the quality one expects from kitchenaid but beware if you actually are someone who uses the oven. It became evident to me shortly while using this stove at my son's that there was a serious design flaw. The front plate (plate behind the knobs) gets quite hot to the touch while using the oven to bake, broil or roast. According to the folks at Kitchenaid, they sacrificed the insulation behind the plate in order to make a larger capacity oven. This may not seem like a big deal if you don't mind the potential of getting burned or you have little ones in the house. They actually admitted that it is a design flaw but followed up with, "that's the way it comes". Since it appears that this is not something that is shared when in the buying process, how would one know? I almost bought this stove myself and I cook and bake all the time. Glad I opted for a different brand. There is nothing on the front of that stove that gets hot! Kitchenaid can take a lesson from them. Why would anyone sacrifice safety for a inch of space. I know my son and daughter would not have purchased this stove had they known. They have a ten month old in the house!!! I have purchased Kitchenaid products for years and am just so disappointed in their cavalier attitude and lack of thoughtfulness when designing this stove and addressing customer satisfaction. Because it is a design flaw and not a mechanical issue, it is not covered under the warranty. In the year 2016 no stove should be hot to the touch anywhere that a child can get to.
Bought about month and a half ago. Product is pristine, and oven cooks everything thorough and perfect. Much better looking than my last one, and great for the price.

This range is a dream. The only tiny, less than wonderful comment, is the griddle is sorta small, I can cook hamburgers or a steak for the two of us, but it might not be super helpful for a larger family. Everything is easy to use, love the blue interior in the ovens, which both work flawlessly.
Stove has not worked since I bought it

I bought this gas range last December and thought the issues I was having with it were just related to gas stoves in general, as I had previously owned an electric stove. The oven kept shutting off, but the control panel display showed that the oven was still on and at the proper temperature. This went on for several months until the oven finally quit working completely. The service technician replaced the control panel which did not alleviate the problem. Apparently, there were wires that were pinched on the inside panel. These wires were replaced and my oven is still not working properly. It still shuts off during the baking cycle, with the control panel showing that all is well and showing that the temperature is still at the proper setting, even though the oven is cool. The service technician came out again ( his 5th visit) and "looked" at the oven. He's coming back next week to replace the burner and ignitor. Thanksgiving is in 10 days! I have had nothing but problems with this oven and the service technicians that KitchenAid sends out under the warranty. I have bought may KitchenAid products in the past with no issues. Maybe my oven is just a "lemon".
The range does everything I hoped it would do.
I always have holiday dinners at my house. I wanted the double oven to give me more temperature variations for dishes as well as the Turkey. I am happy with the small upper oven for single casserole dinners.
Very nice, only one issue

I love the look and use of the oven. My only issue is that I like using a broiler for toast, waffles, etc. and broiler flame only shoots out down the center so it makes it very hard to toast more than a couple of slices at a time.
Loving this range

Just 3 weeks in and I love this range! The convection worked great on my apple pie....Next is Thanksgiving dinner for 6....Lots of room on stove top, and I like the different sized burners for different jobs.
NICE looking - minor glitch repaired.

My wife and i both love the way it looks. It cleans up easily and the burners cook great. the oven seems a little weak, but the repair tech showed us how to calibrate. The only real issue is when we received it, the stove has an internal gas leak. Company came out and repaired and we were all set to cook.

I am 72 yrs. and never had a gas range. I would NOT change it for anything. Where have I been all my life not to use gas. It is FANTASTIC. The top oven is to die for because I bake a LOT of pies and cookies. it is a JEWEL.
