This is by far the best, most efficiently designed fridge I have ever had. I've had a side by side, a side by side counter depth and a regular counter depth. This fridge, at ~22 cu ft, fits more food and is easier to organize and find things than ANY other fridge I have had. I was nervous about the side and shorter/counter depth. No problem whatsoever. The only small complaint I have is that I wish the veggie drawer was deeper (I buy packaged lettuce in plastic crates and just 1 consumes most of the drawer). The freezer is well organized and easy to find things. I like the sliding drawers, very flexible. My only small complaint is that the larger/deeper drawer at the bottom which goes all the way across the freezer has a fixed plastic divider in the middle that cannot be moved. It makes it more difficult to fit larger/bulker items. Very bright inside, well lit.

We are fairyly happy with our new applicances, but are disappointed with the stainless steel finish on them. We were lead to understand KitchenAid had a better finish that didn't show the marks as easily. However we are finding it quite difficult to keep them looking good. Haven't found a product to do the job yet.

Broke in 6 months

Comments about KitchenAid Pro Line Series Counter Depth Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:
My refrigerator stopped cooling in 6 month. A major part had to be replaced. My freezer had to be emptied in order to defrost. This happened on Thursday. The part came in on Tuesday.

Much larger Capacity than "Larger" model!
from San Diego, CA, United States
KitchenAid sent this French Door model to replace my defective Side by Side. The old refrigerator was 24 cubic and the new one is 22; but I find this model is much easier to load, and stuff "fits" better. I wasn't looking forward the bottom freezer, but I am used to it now, and it also seems to hold more. The refrigerator is extremely quiet, and looks more expensive than it actually is.
Poor quality for a Pro Line product
from Enid, OK, United States
I expected everything on this Pro Line refrigerator to be a cut above other products. I was wrong. The plastic inside feels super cheap, and the stainless steel exterior is the thinnest I've seen on any appliance. I wish we had went with another line.
It's okay... not worth half of MSRP.

Got a great deal on this refrigerator and were excited to purchase a model that usually would have been beyond our price range. However, after using the refrigerator for 9 months now, it's just been average. It works, has a couple cool features, like the door alarm and slide-out freezer tray but the usability is quite poor. The ice bucket scoop is on the left hand side and the handle points left, meaning you can't grab it with your right hand unless you cross your arms over. Also, if the right door is closed first, the left door will often bang into the edge of the right door and prevent you from closing the refrigerator unless you open the right door, close the left door and then close the right door again.
Run away from this product
from La Grange, IL
In the 20 months since I've purchased this product, the P trap failed causing water to leak onto my newly refinished hardwood floor and then the ice cube maker failed likely due to a faulty thermostat. Of course, the warranty is only good for 12 months, which should tell you something about KitchenAid's confidence in their product.

Love my fridge! We love that the water is inside so the kids don't drip water down the outside of the fridge

Love the French Door Option
from Saint Johns, FL, United States
We bought this style to replace a side by side after a remodel, the ability to prepare and store large platters was a primary objective. The shelves are easily rearranged, or taken out for cleaning. The counter depth looks great in the kitchen. We had added the Pro Line gas stove during the remodel and the refrigerator really added to the finished look of the kitchen. The French door style puts vegetables and deli items at a more convenient height. The large storage space in the doors put more of the refrigerated items within easy access. The layout of the freezer holds far more than I thought it would.
Very good refrigerator
from Honolulu, HI, United States
We bought this a month ago to replace an aging Sub-Zero built-in with the same Cu. Ft. Storage area. The organization of the space in the new Kitchen-Aid is much better, so it feels as if it is bigger. We love the freezer compartment organization, and also the internal filtered water dispenser that takes up no space.
Items in the back of the first and second shelf freeze and the door pops open
from Walnut Creek, CA, United States
I purchased this refrig in May '13. Despite adjusting the temp controls, the items in toward the back of the first and second shelves are always getting frozen. Also, the doors don't shut and stay shut unless I close the doors pretty hard then make sure they are both pressed shut. The last two french door refrigerators I used (Jenn-Air and GE Monogram) would simply swing shut then sort of suction themselves closed with a tight seal. Not this thing. It was by no means the cheapest of the stainless French-Door refrigerators of this size. I would not buy it again.
