We're very impressed with this stove. I'd never cooked with gas before, and now I can see what the big deal is. The two ovens are great. We were worried that we'd be on our hands and knees all the time because the lower oven is so low, but it turns out that we use the upper oven constantly. It's tall enough for a Pyrex dish full of food, which is all we usually need. The lower oven is convection, which has been fun to try to figure out. The main point we have learned so far is that it makes things crispier, and does it much faster. The chocolate-chip cookies we made when we first installed it were amazing. At first, we didn't know what to make of the teeny little griddle in the middle -- it seemed stupid. We have a ton of kids and usually use a giant griddle. But we find that we're using this small one all the time. Three more pancakes? No problem. One thing we haven't run into yet that will irk me when we do is that the stove supposedly has a gas cut-off when the electricity is out, which happens here all too often. I'd prefer that we could continue to use the gas stovetop when the power is out -- it could make the difference between having to flee the house and not having to do so. We'd had a glass-topped electric range before, which was super-easy to clean, and were worried that this would be a pain. But the grates lift out nicely and it wipes up very easily.

I bought this unit 4 months ago, at first I loved this range, mostly used the upper oven for smaller types of cooking, until I made a turkey, and some other larger foods needed to use the larger convection oven, after cooking for a while, the lower oven's heat goes straight up to the upper doors glass window, the heat from the lower oven generates moisture inside the upper oven window, and you can not wipe it clean, it makes streaks inside the window pane, I called Kitchen Aid direct, and they said, sorry, that's a cosmetic issue, of which I said, no way, there should be no reason to spend over 2 thousand dollars on a new range, for this to happen, no range is designed to create moisture INSIDE the upper ovens window pane, I even bought a 350 dollar, 5 year extended warranty and they still denied me a claim for this, I have never been treated this way from not being satisfied, and I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance ever again, you can find other complaints with this at other sites, just look.

      Poor Design

      By JMH001

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

I purchased this item because I was looking for a double oven, I have heard good things about the KitchenAid brand and because it matched the KitchenAid dishwasher that I purchased a year ago. What I never expected was such a poorly designed unit that has far less cooktop space than my lower-end stove that I was replacing. I must mention that I really want Tom over this stove, however the first experience that I had with the stove was cooking a meal for Christmas Eve, and to my surprise I was unable to fit 3 tall 8qt stockpots on the burners at the same time. The oven knobs are angled up, which takes room away from the front, and the control panel sticks out in the back, which takes away from the back. My advice to anyone who cooks for large gatherings is to measure your current stove and compare it to this one prior to purchasing. I must mention that I am also disappointed in the design of the back of the stove, there is one specific place that your gas line must be located in order for the stove to push flush up against the back wall. Mine however is not located there and the stove sits out about an inch and a half from the wall. I must mention that my old stove was designed to accommodate a gas line at any point along the back of the stove. These are two things I never even thought to consider before purchasing, live and learn I guess.

We bought this about a month ago. I am still getting used to it and learning all of the features. I do like the oven proofing feature. I am not pleased at this point with the top oven. My cookies are not all browning at the same time. I am going to experiment with moving the rack or using the bottom oven.

      AHHHHH!

      By Hoglover

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

We moved a little over a year ago and had to leave our dual fuel range at our old house per the selling contract. Where we moved to had an electric range and double oven. Nice enough but I missed the dual fuel range so bad that we purchased another one a couple of months ago. Appreciate this range even more than last time having had to suffer through the electric range. Great options for not only the gas cooktop part but the ovens as well. Nothing like having a double oven. I was surprised that there was no bottom heating element on this model however that has proven to be a nice touch as it makes it easier to clean without the hindrance of the element. The convention is great and even in normal cooking mode for the lower oven the fan will periodically circulate the air for even temperature control. The temperature is spot on accurate for the ovens and if its not there's an adjustment to make it so. I swear, there's nothing like cooking with gas AND having electric ovens.

      Love the two ovens!

      By LJS22

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

We bought this stove in February 2014. We just finished a busy season of holiday entertaining and love having the two ovens that let you cook different dishes at different temperatures and times. We have also cleaned it once and it was easy and worked perfectly. The gas stovetop is superior to my old model because it is easy to keep clean, and you can put the burner racks in the dishwasher. It also has excellent temperature control so that you can really do a slow simmer. We love this oven and are very pleased with it all around.

      Love It

      By Tata

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

I wanted to have the best of both worlds so I purchased a gas stove with electric ovens. I love it but there are a couple of things you should note - 1) The top of the range is smaller than standard so if you use large pans, this may not be for you if you are using larger pans to feed a crowd 2) Stainless steel - Takes a lot of elbow grease so keep it clean.

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

I really like the top oven. makes it easier to cook\bake for 2 and it saves energy. I don't like that it has less top cooking space on the stove due to where the knobs for the burners are placed. I think it takes about 3 inches away from cooking area.

      Reliable and works great

      By Dlima

      from Toronto, ON, Canada

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Free-Standing Range:

We bought this range around March this year and have used it extensively for cooking, broiling and baking. I particularly like the smaller oven and am surprised on how well and evenly the baking turns out. The metallic finish shows dirt or oil stains immediately and requires frequent cleaning to ensure it shines. The display is easy to read. Overall, we are very happy with the range and hoping it will last us many years.
