First off the TwinTank Steam Mop is super easy to assemble. All you have to do is slip the handled into the base until it 'clicks' in. That's all. The containers that hold the water and the cleaning solution are easy to fill, a bit tougher to snap in properly, I ended up dripping more than I would have liked while trying to get them situated properly, but hopefully the more I do it, the easier it will be for me. I really like the feature that indicates the mop is ready to use by the green light, so there's no guessing on whether it's hot enough to produce steam. I have tile floors in my home, in the bathrooms, front entry way, kitchen, dining area and the laundry room. I keep my floor relatively clean with vacuuming, but don't mop all that often. I felt the TwinTank Steam Mop cleaned my floors really well. I thought before using it that my floors were basically clean…I was surprised to see a lot of dust and hair come up with the steam, especially in the corners of my bathrooms. The swivel head did a pretty good job of letting me get into the hard to reach corners. I used it both on steam alone in one bathroom and then I did the rest of the hard floors with the cleaning solution. I found the cleaning solution left a bit of a film on the tile when I used it at full strength, but I just went over it again with steam alone and it was gone. The cleaning solution is nice for really tough jobs, but I think I'll probably use it sparingly as the steamed water cleaned just as well. Using just the steam from the water makes me feel confident as well that my floors are disinfected but there's no chemicals left behind. I prefer the full microfiber pads that are supplied than the one with the holes cut out. That one didn't seem to allow me to maneuver as well with the TwinTank mop head. I also like the cooling base that comes with it, so that it collects the leftover water from the steam as it cools down, so I don't have a big puddle on my floor after cleaning! The cord on this steam mop is really long. I was able to plug it in my hallway, stretch it across our bedroom, and still reach the far end of our bathroom without even tugging on it. That's REALLY nice, I find most of my floor appliances (vacs, etc.) the cords are too short. Never having had a steam mop before, I have nothing to compare it too, but it definitely beats a regular mop with either a bucket or refill pads and solution. I can see myself mopping my floors a whole lot more with this than I have in the past. I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own.

This machine is not what the company makes it to be. It is heavy and hard to use. The water and solution tank are very small, not enough steam produces. It did not clean spots off floors easily like it stated, had to go over and over it to get them off. Also you have to hold the trigger down the whole time while trying to hang onto the cord. Do not like this machine at all. The shark I had before was much better easier to use and cleaned awesome, but it broke after 3 years so i seen the commercial for this product and decided to try this. SORRY I DID. Also I have called the company to return this item 4 times now and the keep telling me that the shipping label will be emailed to me and it has not. Now I am comming up on the 30 day period and I still dont have the retun label, look's like they are trying to stick me with this horrible product. BE AWARE DONT BUY!!!!!!!

love my steam mop

Comments about Hoover Enhanced Clean Disinfecting Steam Mop:
I bought my steam mop 4years ago. We were living in North Carolina and had red clay soil. My white vinyl floor was turning red. Bought this and was absolutely amazed it took up the red discoloration and I had my nice white floors. I just purchased a new steam mop because when we moved the movers dropped it off the back of the truck. I love my steam mop.

I bought this to use on my hardwood floors. They're only on the main level of the house, about 1000 square feet. They get cleaned every two weeks. I don't think I've had it any more than a couple years and it gets only light use. But, it was very disappointing to have it working one time, then not the next. I took the tanks apart to see that there was nothing that could have caused a clog. I re-installed them, plugged it back in and tried different settings. I don't think the motor is jammed. Instead, it appears to be a problem with the on-off switch.

Hoover Twin Tank Steam - So/So
I have mixed feelings about this product - perhaps my hopes were too high? First, this did do a better than average job cleaning the ceramic tile and linoleum flooring. When used on hardwood it seemed to "streak" my flooring, perhaps from where the holes are in the pad? Other than the streaks though, it did a good job cleaning the hardwood. I did not use solution on hardwood flooring. Things I liked: the long cord, the triangular shape which reaches in otherwise hard to reach spots, it did do a decent job on the floors, it does heat up quickly and produce nice steam throughout cleaning process, and I like the way it stands upright and has a little tray to set in while not in use. Things I did not like: It definitely left behind a good deal of water on the floors, and it took quite a while to dry. The solution made floors sticky. It is absolutely painful holding the steam button down (seriously not a good feature), but I have not yet tried the velcro suggestion.
Cleans but not Durable
from Minneapolis, MN
Had this for a year and enjoyed it for the most part. Found the solution left the floor with a minor stickiness to it. The floor was never sticky before and this goes away. The product never stood straight up like the pictures and easily fell over with a minor touch. After 3 falls the frame which holds the solution tank broke so now it's useless. Cleans well. Temporary sticky floors. Tipsy device.
do not last
from Callander, ON, Canada
I purchase my mop only 3 months ago and no longer working already. I wash my floor one or twice a week, so not much usage. Was washing great when functioning.
Failed after one use
from Northern Virginia
Purchased just over 30 days ago (off course - so now it cannot be returned). Worked perfectly one time, then failed to heat when attempting to use it a second time, even though the lights say it is "ready for use." Given the number of people seeing the same issues, it suggests a significant design and or parts supply issue that Hoover should resolve. .
Good while it lasted
I bought this steam mop on 12/13/12. The only complaint that I had was the tube for the solutions tank would constantly become loose. Other than that, the mop mostly worked fine. I only used the Hoover solution and often diluted it even more than the manual indicated. I did not like to have a sticky residue left from cleaning. The clips that hold the solution tank broke this week. I have jury-rigged the tank by slipping large rubber bands over it to keep it in place. So disappointed that this broke. Time to look for a replacement steam mop. I liked the triangular shaped head, long cord, how it can stand upright and how quickly it heats up. However, I think it should have lasted a bit longer.

Needs different pads
from Grand Junction, CO
I have both this and a Shark. I like the way the head swivels on this one, but the pads are useless. Shark makes much better, thicker pads. I cleaned with the Hoover and there was no dirt on the pad. I then went back over it with the Shark and the Shark pad was black with dirt by the time I was done. I also don't like the way you have to hold the trigger on the Hoover the whole time to make steam. I get a cramp in my arm
Great when it works!
By The Mom

I bought this steam cleaner approximately 6 months ago, using it on the average of once every 2 weeks. Today, it wouldn't "steam" and I am totally frustrated. I trust the Hoover brand, but this is not acceptable. It was great when it worked, and it shouldn't have "died" after 6 months.
Much better than my previous steamer
from South Carolina
I bought this after a lot of research, and it is really one of the nicer steamers out there. I like the triangular head 100% better. It stands up without falling over! It also heats up so fast which is great. It also stores in a small space, actually between my clothes dryer and the wall. The pads are machine washable but I line dry them. There are so many positives for this product that I can just say "go for it". You won't be sorry!!
