I really enjoy washing clothes in this washer, rather than my old 1980's looking/functioning washer. It is a little on the loud side, so not so great to use at night if you have children or sleeping others in your home. (yes it is loud enough to hear through the whole house (doors closed or open)) other than the loudness, its great!

First off, the machine won't start without any clothes in it. Once the clothes were in, I pushed the button and heard some horrible noises coming from it for like 10 minutes then I heard the water running then more noise. The thing shakes like crazy while in the spin cycle. I timed it and it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to finish washing my clothes. This is unacceptable! I'm returning the machine because I just don't want this piece of junk in my basement. By the way, I don't need a sensor to figure out how much water to put in the tub. An hour and ten minutes to wash a load??? Unbelievable!

I purchased this machine just over a year ago, after my old machine finally died after 15 years of use. This was a huge purchase for me, as I am a single mom with 2 kids...so money is very, very tight. I was drawn to this model for several reasons - seemed easy to use, energy efficient, senses load size which would reduce use of water, was supposed to be quiet, etc. However, I was disappointed right away....it is much noisier than my old machine, gets out of balance easily, and it takes over an hour to wash a regular load of clothes (my old machine only took 20 minutes!!). Then, right after the one-year warranty was up in February, the machine started making horrible grinding noises (but not during the spin cycle, I don't think)...like gears on gears...then 2 days ago it quit working all together! I moved it out from the wall, and found a shiny nut under it...so I'm assuming the cam assembly has come apart. I don't have the money to have a repairman come out (that could end up costing as much as the machine did!!), or to pay on online repairman to "guess" at what it might be. It seems like Whirlpool would fix this issue, as there are many others that I have read about that are having the same issue. Very unhappy with this machine, even before it quit working...do not waste your money.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

with efficent space for big loads of clothes. The cleanability level is pretty imppressive. The only gripes I have about it is it broke down on me without warning and it gets pretty loud during spin cycle. I would recommend it.

I love that the washer senses just how much water is necessary - no waste - and that both the washer and dryer are energy efficient. Designed to handle any type of load from the heaviest to the most delicate fabrics and plenty of room for queen sized comforters. These have everything I want. My laundry nook is in the kitchen right next to the den where we watch TV and these appliances are so quiet, we hardly know that they are running. The design is clean and efficient, too. Nice job Whirlpool!
