Absolutely love how quiet it is!! I can finally do dishes late into the evening and not have the noise interrupt the evening or keep us awake. Cleans very well, racks are spacious. I did get the front panel buttons, and find I am always leaning against them and turning the dishwasher on. I can lock it, but find that annoying. If I had to do it over again, I would get the buttons hidden on the top of the door. Also front buttons on stainless are very hard to read. Main feature it doesn't have is a small thing....the large utensil pocket in the silverware tray, and a small item closed basket that I had in my previous dishwasher on the top shelf. Fortunately, I saved them when I got rid of that dishwasher and use them in this dishwasher. Two little things that are VERY handy to have. Surprised they don't include them for what I paid.

I paid nearly $900 for this dishwasher and it has already broke down twice. First time was the control panel and it was fixed under warranty. The dishwasher is again not working. Nothing happens when I touch the control panel. No lights light up. I have checked the circuit breaker and it did not trip. Will be forced to call out service and pay out of my pocket. Also had a problem with the top rack supports failing. If you buy this dishwasher invest in a long term warranty. The electronic control panel seems to be defective or cannot handle the high humidity. My previous dishwasher was a cheap GE model and it lasted 12 years and was broken only after my son fell onto the door. I thought I would upgradebut reliability has been poor for me

I bought this dishwasher 4.5 years ago, it has since taken a dive. Previous kitchenaid dishwasher lasted 14 years. Service technician came out replaced the boards and touch panel. Since then the tech has been out 3 times due to it shutting down and "freezing" when it kicks over to heat dry. Power connection was redone, wires look in tact. As long as I don't allow it to go into heat dry, it still washes dishes and is very quiet, however, I'm disappointed. That it's had as many issues.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
What a nightmare
We have had the control panel replaced under warranty within the first 8 months. We have had water leaks. The new control has been in for 2 years now and we still have problems where it freezes and won't turn on . It just beeps/
Too much plastic!

This gets my dishes clean. But I am replacing the top rack adjuster housing/wheel for the 3rd time in 4 years. It is an easy part to replace, but costs between $25 and $35 to DIY. It is an integral part that keeps breaking - the plastic tabs that hold the wheel on the top rack, so if you don't replace it, you are continually pulling the top rack off the rails. AND - you apparently can't just replace the plastic tab that holds the wheel on, you have to replace the entire adjuster because it is one solid piece of plastic.
Broken, poor-quality dishwasher
By Very unhappy customer
This dishwasher had to be replaced within less than three years. Apparently, it was built with a reduced crimp on the hose connecting the dishwasher sump to the motor. The hose disconnected and caused a major water leak 14 months after the purchase and the leaked water got to our basement. Then, the dishwasher started to have a slow water leak a year later. Our independent repair guy tried to replace the part but it did not work any way. He was gracious enough to refund the money, including the part's cost. He recommended to buy a Bosch dishwasher, which we did. We will never buy another Kitchenaid product, since our Kitchenaid food processor was also poor quality and did not last that long.
We are really, really happy with this dishwasher !You can hardly hear the unit running and, does an excellent job of cleaning the dishes.Would highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

I bought this because the new Bosh dishwasher I had was a piece of JUNK! I love this machine - the dishes come out clean - unless I make a loading error. I've had it for a little less that a year & no problems. I do often wish there was a simple wash & hold cycle rather than a 1 hour wash - it's a little overkill - but I still use it. Having the silverware carrier in the door would be a real +.
Thai dishwasher gets the job done quietly and with no spots left behind. It cleans and dries really well on our pots and ours dishes.
Purchased this dishwasher about a year ago. Very quiet, with lots of cycles to choose from. No issues.
