Great performance, simple setup

About Me Practical, Tech Savvy
Bought the 571 to replace an earlier Yamaha unit which had no video capability and thus did not switch/process HDMI. Use the new 571 now as central control (for a SA8300HD DVR, LG Blu-Ray, and a Roku) and it works perfectly. Basically no issues.
About Me Movie Enthusiast, Practical
Had to print the manual.didn't care for that. There are some things in the manual that aren't explained very well.like setting the channel for 5.1,6.1,7.1 etc....kinda confusing for me.

We use it for home theater and to fill the area with music. It an excellent HDMI switch to select mutiple video sources. Recently, I had a service need for a sub-woofer. Yamaha customer service responded immediately resulting in a positive, hassel free experience.
Another great Yamaha Receiver

After my 31 year old Yamaha receiver finally quit, I needed to buy a new unit - naturally, I bought another Yamaha. The stereo (AV) units have changed a bit over the past 3 decades now being at the center of the home entertainment system. Still, the set-up was a breeze, and the remote is very useful (unlike others I've had in the past). I have 4 6 ohm speakers and the surround sound effect from them is spectacular. The only drawback is I now find myself wanting to buy 3 more speakers to complete the 7.1 system. I can live with this. lol

Bought to replace deceased receiver. Plenty of HDMI ports, clean connections. Layout of speaker connections made for less clutter of cabling.
So far GREAT
from Mountains, Vt
I purchased the RX-V571 to replace a late 90's Onkyo TX-SV646. Nothing really wrong with the Onkyo, but it wasn't capable of any digital processing. I did a lot of research and was going to purchase another Onkyo and then started hearing and reading about quality control issues and HDMI switching problems, so after 25 years I am a proud owner of a V-571. Wow set up was a snap. Gone is the rats nest of cables behind the cabinet, replaced by 5 HDMI cables and speaker wire. A remote that my wife can run without help. I used the built in EQ to taylor the sound and have been very impressed. From classic rock on the iPod, to action movies on the blue ray I have been blown away by the sound. Very clean power through all volume levels without distortion. The HDMI pass through works great for late night viewing.

About Me Technically Challenged
Very simple to set up, and must use an FM ant., along with the AM ant. Takes a while to figure out remote, but after that, can control pretty quickly. Instructions are poor at best, but does come with a dvd/cd instructional manual, using a laptop to read as you set things up is almost a must,(which I do not have!!).
