Great lens for the price. Sharp at f1.8 and greater. Light. Focus can be a little slow in darker environments. Much better than the Canon 50 f1.8. It can be hard to justify paying for the Canon 50L lens (f1.2) which is 4x more expensive over this lens. If you need the f1.2, need the build of an L lens, and have the money to spend, then maybe get the L lens instead of this one. But this lens is hard to beat for the cost. Also consider the Sigma 50 and the Zeiss 50.

Is this supposed to come with a protector cap? I actually paid more and went out of my way to buy this lens at Abt instead of [@] for the customer service aspect - and hate worrying about scratching the lens every time I switch it since there is no protector cover. Seems ridiculous this wouldn't be included.

Love this lens. The bokeh is wonderful, and the fact that I can take indoor photos without a flash now makes it all worth it.

I love this lens! I am an owner of a small photography business and this lens just may be my favorite. It is so versatile. The only downside is that it is fixed focal but it is worth every dime. Good quality for the money! I would highly recommend.
