This washer/dryer combo is the right fit, size and cleans wonderfully...as long as you DONT fill up the (washer) basket. That's what I don't understand. Large capacity so I fill the thing up and the water level, set to large only fills half way. The clothes above the half of basket mark get no water. And the object designed to agitate/cycle clothes from top to bottom...does nothing. Really not liking that about this product. Large capacity but cant use it all. As long as I don't put a FULL load in it works wonderfully. I know your doing the green/save the planet/prevent global warming and all that PC stuff, but half a basket of water means I need to do 2 loads instead of one. Dryer...no issues at all.

This product is not nearly as good as the previous model SE1000 that I owned. The previous model was very good and lasted an extremely long time (in excess of 20 yeas). However, the new design allowing for the control panel's location at the top of the machine is very bad for short operators. Also, the limited water level capacity is very annoying and disconserting in that there is not enough water to submerge the articles being washed. Whatever or whoever is blame for it made a very serious design and marketing mistake. And the "jury" is still out as to Its longevity. All in all this new machine is a cheap imitation of its predecessor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments about Maytag White Stack Washer and Electric Dryer:
Delivery to Michigan for free. Unit has good capacity for a stackable. It works like a charm. It is in a second home, so it will have an easy life, but I bought the extended warenty so it is covered for 4 years. I have never had any troub le with purchases from ABT. I have bought two kitchens and various individual appliances. Delivery and installation were flawless as usuall. The nice thing about ABT is that they back up their products with good service.I cannot speak to the units noise level. It seems quiet enough to me, but it is not located in a place where it matters.Oh, and it was in stock and delivered within a week. Another store in Michigan said it would take 3 weeks to get it.

This is the best choice for stacked laundry pair.

Comments about Maytag 27" White Stack Washer With Electric Dryer:
After owning two other brands of a stacked laundry unit, this is the best. Washer Pros--washer really cleans, it spins out all water so clothes dry faster, and no need for specialized detergent; Cons--capacity is limited by water filling only half-way in the tub, runs rather noisy, Hot cycle not Hot, and water doesn't fill until lid down. Dryer Pros---very quiet operation, large capacity, dries fast, many cycle options, easy-to-clean lint filter, Finish buzzer on/off switch, lighted tub. Cons--not really, just the noisy clang of the closing latch. Despite some shortcomings--related to most newer machines having "green" inconveniences built in, I would choose this unit again, it does the job well. The price was competitive.
The Laundry Center meets my expectations
Only six weeks old, but my new Maytag laundry center has done its job. It was a replacement for a competitor's unit that was a lemon from its beginning. Live in a condo, so space is limited and this unit works better in the space than a duo set. Very pleased its performance. Love having enough washing and drying cycles to accommodate any laundry load. Dryer holds large loads. The water saving level for a large load does not bother me in the least, as the agitator does the cleaning anyway. Have had not problems with laundry not being clean. Very satisfied. Should have gotten a Maytag in the first place.

We initially purchased for a rental unit and our tenant(s) do a LOT of laundry. We've been very happy with it and haven't had any problems at all. We purchased a 2nd one for a vacation property we have and we're loving it. Would highly recommend it! It doesn't take up too much space but is the largest capacity unit we were able to find. We also researched prices and ABT was, by far, the best. We live in California and it was delivered within the week!
This is a great product for the small space we have. The performance is top notch and very efficient. Maytag has always been a name I can depend on.
I got this model because reviews did not mention problems I found on ratings for similar machines, but this one has those problems too. Hot water is automatically changed to warm; water level for large loads is half full, due to factory installed energy efficiency settings. So capacity looks large but you can't really do a large load. Large amounts of water splash onto my floor at regular speed; had to call the repairman in immediately; he says this is due to a problem with the agitator, which has been redesigned and is being replaced under warranty. Even on delicate some clothes catch on the agitator but hopefully this will no longer be a problem after the agitator is replaced.
Water levels way too low to use the full capacity of the wash tub.
I like the machine and it works well.....however.....to get a good rating from the government on water usage they made it so the wash tub does not fill up to a point you can use the full capacity of the wash tub. This may save water but you have to do many more loads. Which wastes electricity and cause more machine wear and tear. To me this makes no sense. I usually dump 1 to 2 buckets of water into the machine in order to use the full capacity of the tub. You have the same problem with the rinse cycle. The poor ratings I gave were only due to water levels, everything eles is great.
Would purchase again
I haven't really had enough time to give an honest opinion of the set yet. I do like the fact that it is Maytag. I worry that the latch on the dryer won't hold up well because it is so hard to shut and open the door. I don't know that I like the water-saving feature on the washer, does it have enough water to agitate the clothes properly? .
