We had been on the market for a new washer for a while when we visited the Matag site and used the product finder. This helped us narrow down the search and we finally settled on the 6000 model. What an improvement from our old washer that was an LG model. I love the way the clothes are clean and how they spin out the water to the point of almost being dry. What a HUGE incentive for saving electricity! I love the new washer and would recommend it to anyone who is on the market.

Unless this washer is loaded it has major issues with balancing to spin. I have had 2 Neptune washers that I loved and replaced with this washer. I am ready for a nervous breakdown by the time it gets done sensing and sometimes it still hasn't spun out when the cycle is finished. Off to the laundromat.

Never Again Maytag
By Wore Out Repairman

Comments about Maytag Maxima MHW6000 Crimson Front Load Washer:
Bought this unit in 2012 from Home Depot. Have spent over $500.00 on repairs, (doing it myself.) First: a rip in the door gasket. Second: the MCU went out. 8 month's later the User interface would not work. Found this out when we came home from a 2 week + trip. (Nice Maytag!) Used to be the best units. Now nothing but trouble
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Front loader washer

Washes cloths GREAT!!! But mold in rubber lip.Need to wash out every time used!!

Owned this washer for 5 years. Replaced a motor, "computer", water pump, a belt....and it's broken again with a code that customer service "never heard of before". Went with Maytag to replace our Kenmore based on rating and reviews highlighting quality. Unfortunately, we got the opposite.

Bought in Sept 2011 - worked fine for 2 years since then I have replaced the same part FIVE times (water inlet switch). Where's the recall??? Switched to an LG top loader and so far love it!

Bought this machine 3yrs ago to replace my aging maytag top loader. The motor control board blow out to the tune of $220, and that's was doing it myself..can imagine $300-$400 if it was a service call.

WORST PURCHASE I EVER MADE
By Rog 2016

This washer and dryer set are the worst. dryer broke after year and half cost over 300 for repair and washer wouldn't work after 3 years. first problem was e1 f6 got repairman to take a look cleaned hidden filter then it worked for few weeks. same thing happened 2 weeks ago this time it wouldn't work and repairman told me it is comunication problem and there is no way to tell between 2 computer board which is not working. I don't think it should be advertised as a commercial heavy duty made in the US. This is not the quality I was expecting from a reputable company. When Looked on the internet it turned out it is a common problem. I think they should recall it or offer discounted extended warranty.
How can you wash clothes in a few inches of water?
Had this for years, does not add enough water to wash clothes properly. Can not spin out heavy items. They are left sopping wet. This is a big waist of money, buy something else.I hate this washer.Water lays in rubber part of door, stinky, rotten, foul water.

Unhappy with product life.
from Windsor, ON
Machine lasted 4 years. Required over $600 in parts for just 2 parts which did not include service fees and were not covered under warranty (CCU & MCU).In the first week I snapped off the knob accidentally due to its cheap plastic design; was told I needed to purchase the whole MCU to replace ($300).Was told I should expect these machines to only last this long (4-8years).Even if I made the repairs the rubber seal was rotting and didn't have much life left in it.Washed clothes pretty good though, hence the 1 star! Support was completely unhelpful and wanted to send me expensive service repair people just to gage the issue withput offering compensation for your shatty machine.Have purchased a cheaper top load from the competition; at least I won't be upset if this one caps out in 4 years!

I bought this unit two years ago. I invested in a Maytag because of the supposed outstanding construction and longevity of the product. Unfortunately I just spent $420 to get the memory board replaced only to find out from the repairman that this is "normal" for a Maytag and he was surprised it didn't happen sooner. He also stated that a lot of these boards go bad in the showroom or within the first 30 days of purchase! I am now questioning my purchase. :(
