I did not want a side by side because I think it is easier to use full width shelving to easily store and locate items. I am very happy with this fridge. The french door would not fit my space so I thought I was settling for this unit. I am very happy with this from a space standpoint, lighting and style.

This model has alot of space.

You cannot put the shelves where you need them, because the spacers are molded so you have to put shelving in the spots that are there for you. You'll see when you look in the fidge and move the shelves around.

Delivery was perfect, service at Abt was perfect.

I had the old model of this fridge and it was the best looking. Everything was perfect with it for 9 years until the storm blew out everything.

Kitchenaid should go back to the old model and offer the contoured doors and please go back to the Black sides. Most people have black in their homes and the Grey looks terrible, or give them a choice. Kitchenaid made alot of mistakes with this one. The over performance is okay except the ice maker is slow slow slow and we are always on the edge with being out of ice each day. Economy is not always the correct buy. I have all kitcheaid appliances and love them except this fridge is testing my thoughts with the 2012 model.

Purchased this newer stainless model to replace an existing, 8-year old Kitchenaid. Newer fridge purchased to match other stainless, Kitchenaid appliances. We are happy with the fridge so far; more shelving options would be helpful. The "filter racket" (my term) is an aggravation, but all manufacturers have hopped on this gravy train. It is ridiculous to pay more annually for filters than for the electricty to run the fridge!
ABT was excellent to work with ... fridge arrived on time ... no damage ... helpful driver .. and all at a fair price. We are repeat ABT customers and will go back again as needed.

We recently purchased this refrigerator for our busy family of 5 and could not be happier.

Great things: The LED lights are wonderful; the entire fridge is so well lit you can't lose things in the back. The interior styling is quite nice and sleek looking. I like the glass shelves in the freezer instead of wire shelving. The ice maker/storage in the door is a great feature and the pull out ice storage is very convenient. The ice cubes are smaller than the standard crescents which I like because they fit better into narrower glasses. The factory setting for temperature is perfect and the unit cooled down very quickly upon installation. The "measured fill" water dispenser option is a handy feature, which I thought was gimmicky in the store, but I find I use it multiple times every day. The water dispensed is nicely chilled, too.

Not so Great things: There is not gallon size storage in the door. We don't store milk in the door, but could be an issue for those who do. The shelf placement is limited in both the fridge and the freezer. There's one extra shelf option in the fridge and two in the freezer, although you can have the deli drawer up in the middle of the unit or flush with the crisper, so that's a nice choice. The door open alarm is so subtle, just a pleasant beep that doesn't constantly repeat: nice when you are loading groceries in and leave the door open, but you can barely hear it in the kitchen; I doubt you could hear it anywhere in the house if one of the kids left the door open accidentally. I have noticed the general working noises of the unit more than my old fridge, but it could just be because they are "different" sounding. Nothing too crazy loud.
