No matter what I read and heard, nothing prepared me for how instantaneous the induction feature has been. Whatever pot/pan I choose to use, the configuration of the top is perfect for use. The ease of cleaning makes cooking delightful as does the instant cool down with toddlers present. The ability to so easily adjust the cooking temperature far exceeds its reputation leaving me totally satisfied with this purchase,

I would NOT recommend buying this stove at all. We had this stove delivered and installed by Jenaire. At first we thought what a great stove. However the stove broke down within a week to month of use and was replaced not one, not two but four times. After the 4th time that the unit was replaced we gave up and decided to buy a completely different brand. We went with a Bosch. To this day we love the Bosch and have had no difficulties with it.

This is a great cooktop with the induction heating. I had a smooth top previously, but this is much better. Faster at heating, ease of use and cleaning. The edges sealed in chrome helps to eliminate crumbs from getting stuck.

So far so good. Have been using the cooktop daily for one month. Great at low heat and high heat, boils water extremely fast. Some slight buzzing can be heard at some power levels. I had to install a new power line and breaker to supply the 40 amps that this required, so be prepared for that if you are retrofitting.

We remodeled our kitchen last fall, and had the XBL version of this cooktop installed in November (we also purchased and installed a KitchenAid double oven). The XBL does not have the stainless edge. Within a month or so, we had a chip in the front edge of the cooktop. And within 6 months, we had an additional chip on the side. We are careful and tidy cooks, and there are no items above the cooktop to fall on it. The edge seems terribly brittle. Is there a problem with the way the ceramic was cured? We purchased from Warners Stellian and they have advised us that KitchenAid will not help us replace the glass. We certainly would not have purchased this product knowing how fragile it is. I wish that someone would have recommended the stainless edge to us. This situation is very disappointing considering our overall investment in KitchenAid brand products.

A Magnetic Attraction
from Bethesda, MD
I recently purchased a Kitchen Aid Induction cooktop and I love it! It is really fast-heating and amazingly quick shut down; I impress my friends by turning off a whistling teapot--instant silence! It also cleans easily and looks great (especially when replacing an old GE stove with burners)-- a great change.

Like the majority of bad reviews online for this unit I and getting the F47 error and I am sure I will go through a whole circus working with Kitchenaid as it has just been a year that I owned the unit. We bought all new kitchenaid appliances during a remodel and have had nothing but trouble with all of them

Works great! Bridge is handy for large pots. Extends use of counter for serving island when not using cooktop. Easy to clean. Love it!

This is our first experience with a induction cook top and we love it.
It's what I wanted, not as great as hoped for.

I purchased this to replace a 10 year old electric Jenn Air cooktop. I didn't use the grill or griddle on it any longer and the two radiant burners were all I had to use. After investigating what solid electric cooktops would fit in the opening already in countertop from the Jenn Air I settled on this Kitchen Aid.I have All Clad cookware and two pieces of Le Creuset so there was no extra investment needed. The All Clad heats and cooks nicely but when using the Boost to bring water to a boil the All Clad will emit a very high pitch shriek noise with the lid on. This does not happen with the Le Creuset (heavy cast iron I would imagine doesn't lend itself to this) and also doesn't happen with the Copper Core All Clad pot I own. So I can't use the regular 3 ply All Clad on Boost. Which is annoying since this is one of the main reason to purchase the induction cooktop. Very fast heating of water, foods, etc. I do not mind the clicking noise that others say bothers them as I understand the hobs have to cycle on/off with power to cook at a lower setting. I guess if you purchase a much higher priced unit from Gagineau or Wolf this doesn't happen. Maybe Kitchen Aid should look into a better quality hob switch unit to cycle the power on/off for lower heating. Other than that no issues with noise. It does heat things up very quickly and turns off just as fast. There is no extra usage of power that is for sure. And the only thing heating up is the cookware, not my kitchen. Another bonus. All in all I would say this is a nice cooktop for the price. It was a bit tricky to install into an existing opening and the mounting brackets could have been a bit more substantial. Very odd for a glass unit to just sit on four little snap over knobs on each bracket. Also did not care for the rubber self stick piece to "seal" the unit to existing countertop. Really could have used something like a silicone strip laid down on the counter and the unit drops onto that instead. But nit picking about tiny issues here.As long as it lasts a good ten years without trouble I will be happy.
Excellent oven. cooktop

I was a little leery of purchasing an induction cook top, but I'm glad I did. The only issue I have with it is the bridge element. So far I can not find a griddle that will work with this function. The 11 inch burner needs to be redesigned so that it can also work with smaller pan size(s). The 7 inch burners are too close together on the 30 inch cook top.
