Use the microwave to heat water for hot, individual beverages, warm-up leftovers, prepare "instant" meals, soups, etc.

The under-unit lighting is set at the rear of the unit and is also inadequate.

Broke in 4 months

Worked fine for 4 months, then simple stopped heating up food. GE Service is here for free repair, but what are the chances it last 5 years? Personally, I don't think I will buy GE Microwaves in the future.

Generally a very well made machine. However, the only bad point that I can see is the "reheat" control. The older model GE that I had, had at least 9 or ten reheat options. This only has three, and none seem to apply to everyday usage.

Epiliptical box design drops it closer to the stove-top than I anticipated. Make sure your cabinet is high enough off the stove-top to ensure adequate clearance between the bottom of the microwave and top of stove

Nice "In-Between" Model

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Nice model between low end looks and high end prices. Has all the important features -- external vent for stove-top cookers. Took me two hours to remove and install. Fits where the existing unit was but it extends out further front and below -- something to consider. The LED display looks somewhat dated.
