Great mid-level washer

I am very pleased with the super quiet Bosch 24" Ascenta Dishwasher (SHE3AR76BK). I replaced a loud 14-year old budget level washer that didn't perform well, so it's a dream in comparison. However I did give it a good workout and it passed with flying colors. I had friends for dinner; a beef roast braised in red wine, au gratin potatoes, roasted veggies and before cleanup, had an emergency that left the dirty dishes, glasses, pots and pans sitting on the counter for over four days. When I got back (yes, it was pretty gross) I threw them in the dishwasher without any pre-washing and to my extreme surprise, everything—even the dutch oven with baked on red wine stains & the cheesy potato pan—came out spotless! I do use the recommended Finish all-in-one tabs & rinse agent and have never had a dish come out less than spotless. I can see why it was Consumer Report's Best Buy in 2012.
I like the adjustable top rack. On the lower setting, I can get stemware on top and still have room for a 12" fry pan on the lower rack. I purchased the Dishwasher Accessory Kit with it and am pleased with the vase/bottle holder and plastic item clips. I tend to run it before bed and leave the unloading 'til I'm home from work, so I haven't had an issue with the long cycle time or drying like some others have. I have zero complaints about the washer. It was a bit awkward to load in the beginning, but that was more about me getting used to the different rack layout than a design issue. Great dishwasher for the price.

I wanted to buy the model my the model my mother purchased 3 months ago, but it had been discontinued. This was, according to the Abt website, the model that replaced it. All I can say is never buy a dishwasher without reviews..they sure saw me coming.
I replaced my 25 year old maytag that no longer cleaned or dried well. I was too tired to re-do all the research my mom had done so I bought this model.

Cleans some stuff, but not everything...it works best if you rinse your dishes first. It is suggested that you scrape your dishes, but not rinse (what a load of nonsense)
I noticed the inside started to stink after the first 3 loads. I checked the filter and rinsed it..nothing really to clean. The next time I ran the "sanitize" cycle and the odor went away. Then I ran a "normal" wash and the stink was back.
AND, I am still drying the dishes

This dishwasher is so quiet I often have to check that it's actually running when I turn it on. The loading space is perfectly designed to fit all kinds of dishes so you can use the space really efficiently. My ONLY complaint is that it fills fast; although it's a standard size for a dishwasher the loading space is a bit small.

This is the best dishwasher I have ever owned. It is so quiet you literally have to put your ear next to the door panel to make sure it's on. It's quieter than my kitchenaid was and gets everything spotless. I have seen complaints here and on other forums about dishes coming out damp or wet. My installer suggested using the sanitize cycle to get them really dry, but even without it, there is just minor wetness on a few items. It is well within the tolerable range. Because there is no heating coil at the bottom like domestic dishwashers, plastic things don't melt. Delicate items can be put on the top or bottom racks.
My only drawback is that the racks take some getting used to. The top shelf is adjustable so I put my large items on top.

Perfect. Installer was clean, courteous and professional. I was kept totally aware of the delivery schedule.

We love this dishwasher. We only have to turn it on once or twice a week, and sometimes I wish we used it more often just to have it run. It is so quiet it's amazing. Our previous dishwasher was only 4-5 years old and it was so noisy we hated to turn it on at all. Not only is The Bosch dishwasher quiet but it does an excellent job of cleaning and drying dishes (plates, cups, glasses, everything).

Service and delivery comments:

The service from Abt was beyond compare. Their sales people are courteous and extremely knowledgeable about every product they carry. We have purchased a grill, two refrigerators, a dishwasher, a stove and a washer and dryer from Abt. Their installation personal are also great at what they do. We have never had a problem with any appliance installed by the Abt delivery/set-up personnel.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
