After one week of use I can not imagine washing with another brand of dishwasher. The GE that this replaced sounded like a Jet Engine in comparison, The first cycle I had to open it to make sure it was running. My glasses come out sparkling and so clean. I can see why Consumer Reports rates BOSCH as the best for cleaning!

I was really excited to to get a new dishwasher, but this one is a complete disappointment. I've had this alleged "dishwasher" for 2 months and I am ready for a new one. Right off the bat with the FIRST wash there was black crud left on silverware and some bowls & plates that looked and smelled like mold. Even using the recommended detergent & rinse aid, the strongest wash option & sanitize option, and a service visit from a Bosch tech did not help. It can't even clean a cup that had tea in it, tea stains remain in the mug. Food is left stuck on silverware. Loading is awkward at best. Taller cups fall over onto their side when you pull the rack in or out because the tines aren't tall enough. My plates have a 1/4+ inch lip around them so they don't fit well into the very narrowly spaced tines meant for plates. You must have completely flat and thin plates in order for them to fit properly. It is beyond my comprehension how this could have been a top pick by the leading consumer magazine. I WISH I had my old Kenmore back. I cannot caution you enough, please don't waste your money on this.

Comments about Bosch 24" Stainless Built-In Dishwasher:
Only negative is that lower rack is a bit unstable. Cleans well and runs quietly.

Comments about Bosch 24" Ascenta White Built-In Dishwasher:
So quiet I have trouble knowing it's operating. Consider that other models have countdown lights. Clean dishes, pots and tableware, it's really almost perfect.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery and install went just as expected, with phone call letting me know they were right on time.

This was a Best Buy rating in consumer reports. There are parts you need to buy that should have been included, power cord, water connection elbow, some other little things. The installation manual is poor. Tiny illustrations, it was written for multiple models. I couldn't find the drain hose. My wife said look inside, there it was. We are still learning the controls, you have to hold down two buttons at once And then scroll through options to get it started. Seems unnecessarly complicated. The racks are a little stiff and don't roll easily. The silverware rack goes on the side, I prefer a front location so you can drop in silverware without pulling out the rack. It is very quiet and looks nice. Might rate it higher after I get used to it.

Cleans well, but it smells!
from Chicago, IL
I bought this dishwasher primarily because it was highly rated by consumer reports. I was skeptical as it was less expensive than most others that were highly rated. I've had it about 3 months, and it does clean dishes well. It's also very quiet...other than the non-stop beep when it's finished. But there are other things that could certainly be better. The whole thing feels a bit clunky...you can easily pull the racks all the way out (too far,) and the controls do little to let you know that you actually activated them. The lower rack is just not configured well for holding anything but dishes. Bowls and wine glasses do not have an easy-to-use place. My biggest complaint is that it smells...all the time...every time I open it. I've cleaned the filter, though this was happening from the time it was brand new. I had read a review saying this same thing prior to purchasing it, but thought it was just a fluke. It is not. Anyway...this dishwasher is definitely a Buick, not a BMW.
ABT was excellent, as always. On-time, polite, clean and even walked me through how to use the dishwasher...amazing.
Better than not having a dishwasher.

So when the cycle is done it will beep. Then beep again. And again. And again. Maybe you set it to run during the night. And maybe you don't have the luxury of not living in a 900 sq. ft. apartment, so the beeping can be heard in every room of the apartment through the night. Maybe this will drive you mad.....Then you realize there may be a way to silence the beeping. But the manual provided does not contain that guidance, so you call the support number, but the techs are only in during 9-5 hours. But they call you back while you're at work and you can't answer. You live alone and running the dishwasher is a thing that happens approximately once a week, so the beeping problem falls to the wayside. After an exhaustive Google search, I find a different manual that contains the secret instructions to turn off the BEEPING. I follow the steps, which are fairly straightforward. I'm successful in disarming the end of cycle beeping. Since I've silenced the beeping, i feel like I don't have many complaints. After all it's a dishwasher. it does the dishes for me, so it's got that going for itself.
Would be awesome if the installers SHOWED ME HOW TO CRACK THE CIPHER CODE OF SILENCING THE BEEPING. Good god.
AWEsome, quiet dishwasher... hidden controls

We have had this only 1 month, but it is GREAT... TOO QUIET. Too quiet? Yes, it is hard to tell when it is finished, so let it run overnight. I think I read it is under 50dB, and I believe it! Only sound I can detect when 3 feet away is the water draining into the sink drain and maybe the water filling. AND I can't believe it can hold my tall Weissbier glasses and liter steins. ALSO is able to contain all my plate (16 person) where my Kenmore did only half. Dang, that's good.
Delivery was great through Pilot Delivery. They called to arrange pickup even though I scheduled one in advance... a month later at the original estimate of delivery time. You see, the dishwasher was so popular that it was back-ordered, and it came in early! NICE!
Not sure I would buy this model again
Pros: The dishwasher is very quiet and gets the dishes clean. It looks nice. Cons: The racks are rickety. The bottom rack slides all the way out too easily and is tricky to get back in. The dishwasher is definitely on the small side, and it is challenging to load with anything of unusual shape or size. It beeps for a variety of reasons. I was able to figure all this out by going online and turning off the annoying alerts, but it takes some figuring out.
Abt delivery and installation was great as usual.

About Me Heavy duty user/large household
I am an avid cook and use this dishwasher for dishes, pot and pans 2 - 3 times a day. This machine works very well. Everything comes out completely clean. I only wish the cycle time was a bit shorter.
Excellent service and delivery.
good Dishwasher so far
from Chicagoland, IL
Good dishwasher so far. All controls are inside, so it is impossible to see where the wash cycle is and when/if the wash cycle is finished without opening up the door. Pretty quiet, but after a few washes, we can hear when the dishwasher is running, which helps determine when the cycle is finished. Nice to have an adjustable upper rack to accommodate tall items.
