I have owned and been very, very pleased with all of my Maytag appliances for the past 30+ years. When my 28yr old Maytag washer "died" I didn't think twice about which brand I would replace it with! This is the first "high-efficiency" washer for me and, quite frankly, I am not as pleased with it as I thought I would be. It does get the clothes clean! I can't deny that. Which amazed me, with the amount of water is uses (doesn't use). When I first got the machine my daughter and I opened the lid, just to look, and there was barely enough to cover the items in the load. Our standing joke was; let's go put a load in so it can "spit" on it! lol :) What I don't like about it (true of most makes and models of the new high-efficiency, agitator-less, machines)is that it takes too many of the washing "decisions" out of my hands! I want warm wash, cold rinse... nope, can't do that. I want to dampen a piece of clothing to pre-treat, nope, no water until AFTER the lid is locked. I also don't like that I can't butt my washer up to my dryer like I used to. The installer said that the washer might "move" some and it would end up scratching the sides of the machines. If the load gets out of balance, the washer "walks"... All of this being said, would I still buy a Maytag, absolutely!!

Immediately after purchasing this appliance, we noticed issues with starting a load. You would need to turn the washer on and off, repeatedly close the door or fluff up the load to get it to start. We had a serviceman out and he said the lid was not latching and the control panel needed to be replaced. They offered to fix it for free, but we asked for another washer since it was new and these were big issues. The store we bought it from has been very helpful, and said sometimes an appliance will come off the assembly line that way. They are delivering us a new washer. I hope to able to give a better review then.

Excellent features and individual controls

Comments about Maytag Bravos Lunar Silver Top Load Washer:
I've had my Maytag washer for about 2 months and I really like it. I am very pleased with the control features on it and my clothes are very clean. I love that there is no agitator thing in the middle of it (what's that called?!), I can see everything and don't have to worry about spacing of clothes. Love the controls. Love it, period. It is also very quiet, as is the dryer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Totally new and different

We purchased the Bravo washer and dryer 09/11/2015. I believe the salesperson should have made a distinct effort to point out the differences in how the Bravo washer operates as compared to traditional agitator driven top load machines. For the first two to three weeks we "over/analyzed" what we thought the settings choices should be with each and every load. But now after close to two months, we are entirely satisfied that the purpose of the appliance is being filled. New technology that takes customers out of their comfort zone does take time to prove itself. We are very satisfied that this washer does do what it is designed to accomplish.
so far so good

Works good. Little louder than I thought it might be. Thought it was broke at first, but that's the noise it makes. It spins the clothes really dry. Less time in the dryer. Would give it it a 5 if it was quieter.
Another fine Maytag

Clothes come out clean and smell that way too. It is a bit loud during the wash cycle but it is worth the investment.
Love my Maytag

I didn't know for sure if it was going to get the clothes clean with the little amount of water it uses. BUT-it does! And that makes me happy. It is pretty quiet and that is good. The signal at the end to let me know it is done is good so I can get down there and throw it in the dryer so I can get my work done.
