It wasn't the most expensive and not the least. I feel it was a great value for the price we paid and has all the features we use.

Disappointing

Purchased this microwave to replace a 15 year old GE Spacemaker Over the Range Microwave; this new one is definitely inferior to the old one. There are 6 food sensor options - of the 2 that we have used so far, the "Potatoes" food sensor does not fully cook the potato; the "Popcorn" option leaves a lot of un-popped kernels. The old microwave had food sensor options for "fresh vegetables" and "frozen vegetables" that worked great; this microwave does not have those features. The MyPlate.gov "feature" is a ridiculous insult to any nominally intelligent person, but I didn't buy the microwave because of that "feature" and just try to ignore seeing it on the touchpad. The hood fan is marginally effective, although Consumer Reports does say that all hood fans incorporated into over the range microwaves are not as effective as standard hood fans, so this product is no different than any other over the range microwave in that respect. The Hood Fan is, however, noisier than my old microwave hood fan, as is the microwave itself.

Overall, if the food sensor features did the job they're supposed to do, and included a "fresh vegetable" and "frozen vegetable" option that worked, my opinion of this microwave would be much higher.

it heats up food quickly and the vent works very well. The express cook is very handy for quick heating and it has a popcorn setting that pops all the popcorn.

So far, I like the GE Profile microwave very much. It's pretty quiet, looks nice. One feature I like is when defrosting or cooking, it pauses and prompts for you to turn the item over which results in more even cooking or defrosting.
