I got my new washer 01/07/02. I had quite a back load of laundry and have done approx. 6 or 7 loads of clothes from delicates to towels and even a blanket. Clothes seem clean. Will take some adjustment to get accustomed to the settings but so far I have had no problems or foul ups with the washer and it seems to be functioning fine and has been easy to use. I do wish the dispenser drawer were more in the center of the machine as it is a little wide for me to fully use it with the size of my washroom folding doors.

Comments about Whirlpool Duet High Efficiency Front Loading Gas Dryer:
As I read these reviews they said everything that has happened to mine. Do not buy this! There is a reason they do not make it anymore.

Whirlpool is the Worst!!
from Philadelphia, PA
This unit only lasted 3.5 years!! The balance brick ripped right off the tub, which should never happen and I am being told I am SOL and need to purchase a whole new unit with no help from Whirlpool! This is a manufacturers' defect and Whirlpool is not taking any responsibility!!!Other than this issue, it needs to be cleaned constantly (the gray rubber piece inside gets so moldy even if i leave the door open to let it air dry) and it sounds like an airplane is landing in my condo. They just lost my business.
Fast and reliable.

Finished with Whirlpool
from Flanders, NJ
This washer lasted me 3 1/2 years. The tech said it would cost $600 to fix it. Needs new basket, rear and front drum, new belt, motor is going also. The rubber around the door is disgusting and the door gets all scummy I guess from the soap. It's really awful that a washing machine needs to be cleaned so often. My next machine will be a top loader. This was my second duet in 11 years! Never will I buy Whirlpool again.

We picked this up about a month ago and it is a great machine. Quiet and efficient. Cleans great- even takes out the various stains from a 4 yr olds clothes. Also a great energy saver and has an Eco boost setting. Very happy we went with this brand and model.

This washer is incredible!!! Having used an agitator for years I was a little skeptical about this new form of washing machine. I was amazed and swear that my clothes are coming out whiter and cleaner than ever before. The various options (i.e. small load, delicate, heavy duty, etc.) makes for an easier selection when deciding.

I bought the washer about three years ago. I have had to change the drum seal twice. I have had clothes damaged because it wedges into the drum seal as the spin cycle is on. I'am not satisfied overall with the purchase.

Rubber Gasket Damaged in first 3 years of use
from Oakland, CA
Rubber Gasket Damaged in first 3 years of use. Parts = $120, Labor $95.A minor/trivial issue is that it leaves soap on the door occasionally even when a normal amount of soap is used.Otherwise, it cleans well.

Suds remaining in the door seal after cycle is done. I use "he" soaps, but even at half the recommended measure, the problem usually remains. Both a Whitlpool tech and a repairman could not offer any solution other than reducing the amount of soap and using Affresh.
Beware of Model WFW9151YW Duet Washer
from franklin county, VT
We spent $971.+ on 7/11/2012, and replaced it on 11/11/2015 with a boot torn in 3 places, and in need of a new inner basket and outer tub with bearings. Parts alone exceeded $600 without labor. We are a senior couple with minimal to average laundry needs, we took care of the machine, and followed directions. We did not have the extended warranty. The performance was just fair, even when brand new. It is unacceptable for such a machine to fail in just over four years. The other issues are common to front loaders: even with regular cleaning, as recommended in the manual, and leaving the washer door open when not in use, the odor and the build-up were disgusting, even with a water softener. No matter how good a Black Friday deal, beware of this model, and be careful of Whirlpool.
