I've only had this washer for about 6 weeks, so I can't speak to long-term issues or benefits. So far, it gets my clothes incredibly clean and has more space than I anticipated for the smaller model. It has the same potential drawbacks that all front loading washers have (the wet gasket, the occasional stuck sock, the noise during the high speed spin cycle), but so far they're all manageable and I'm very happy with the washer. Vibration has been very minimal, especially considering we've got it on a second floor and on tile (but it is stacked, which likely helps). The variety of cycles is at first mind boggling, but I'm getting used to it and finding myself using more of the pre-programmed cycles than I thought I would. I haven't had it long enough to really examine the energy savings.

Pros: Stylish design Cons: Need a technical course to operate the washer. Example: Last week my wife screamed at me because the detergent was leaking from the drum (may be she over poured it). it spilled the floor. she said this product is not good, i convinced her that she has over poured it and finally the topic is subsidized. i was thinking now that for this issue the technology should have helped. How? when the detergent is poured and when the necessary level is reached, the shutter should stuff off or an indicator (a warning sound or a light) should come up. the excess liquid should drain-off or have a container inside the washer to pick the extra fluid. i am sure this use case is not tested initially. :o) Oppourtunity for the whirlpool designer to improvise it (Another item that i need to patent - just kidding).. Hope the review helps for the product improvement.

I purchased a Wirlpool Duet sport five years ago. The relationship started out fine. As time progresseged I noticed that clothes were no quite as clean as I would like. Then finally I heard this terrible noise. It sounded like a train going through the house. I jumped on the phone to my appliance guy,who recommeded this unite and described the noise. He told me the bearings are gone and can't be repaired. FIVE YEARS! No way! I never over loaded it there are only tow of us so how could that be? Well I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool Washer. I am moving on to the top rated LG.

I have been used to a top loader whirlpool washer for 20 years. When it came time to replace it I chose to look at the updated version of whirlpool as I had a minimum of service calls on my older washer. I chose the front loader and find that is so much easier to use. It does a great job and I feel there is less stress on my clothes because there is no agitator. Actually I look forward to washing because it's so easy to use. I am very happy with my purchase and find it's fun to do my washing

The washer does a great job on a variety of different clothing, bedding, and everything in between. It is quiet and runs well. Since I bought the matching dryer it is difficult to not comment on that as well. It does an excellent job as well since you replaced the motor. Initially the motor was defective and the machine would not run.

I love the features and the overall design of this washer and dryer. They are both complimentary of our modern wash room that we recently remodeled. At first there were some issues with the noise during the spin cycle but then realized we need to add a anti-vibration pad as we have them both on hard tiled floor with no pedestal. Worked great after adding pad.

I purchased this washer along with the matching dryer as this was the only set of machines that fit into the built in cabinetry in my laundry room. There is a serious design flaw in the washer that allows small items to get stuck in the door - you can see them - but you cannot open the door to remove until the cycle is complete. Now you have one or two wet socks to deal with. I have used front load washers for years and never had this problem. I should have realized this machine had problems as the delivery guy told me to leave the door open after using to avoid the mold. Avoid the mold problem? is he kidding me? Yes, the poor design retains water along the front and other owners have complained of mold (ignore the reviews on this site, every other review site gives these machines 1-2 stars. After using this machine for 2 weeks I am ready to throw it out the window.

This washer is the best I have ever purchased! I was not sure of the hype of a front loader and the "HE" designation but this machine has completely changed my opinion. It has surpassed my expectations in quality and service. I have already noticed a drop in electricity and water usage, and the clothes are noticeably cleaner. Would I recommend the Duet washer to my friends, absolulty yes!
