Disgusted - PLASTIC
from Los Angeles, CA
About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
Comments about Rohl Polished Chrome Strainer Baskets Without Pop Up:
Paying nearly 50 bucks for a drain here, I expected the item to be made of metal but the flange and drain portion that attach to the plumbing is plastic! Very cheap workmanship for them to make this so cheap and then charge premium dollar for it. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase this at any price. Plastic means the exposed drain is not electrically grounded to your plumbing which I believe is dangerous. Rohl should be held accountable for noting this drain is chrome because the most significant connection to the plumbing is not and only some parts of it are metal.Very, very disappointed and disgusted.
Service and delivery comments:
This item was backordered and recently shipped.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: The manufacturer was contacted and they are unable to substantiate any safety issue. Typically, electricity that comes directly into the home is grounded in the ground to the water line before it enters the dwelling. GFCI outlets near any fixtures in the home that handle water like the bathroom and kitchen sink will act as further protection.
