This machine does not live up to the expectations that come with the Maytag nameplate. This was a replacement for a previous frontloader that was also from Abt so I had high expectations.

1. The machine has a very long cycle.
2. The machine struggles to spin / extract a load of any size.
3. It goes out of balance very easily and is very sensitive to even the slightest variation in load balance.
4. Between the wash and rinse cycles and between the rinse cycles the machine is often unable to successfully spin out the load and defaults to just progressing to the next cycle with the clothes till soapy.
5. When trying to balance the load, instead of tumbling back and forth to loosen clothes it only tumbles in one direction making the tangled or balled up clothes tighter and more out of balance.
6. It frequently adds in excess of 25 minutes to the overall cycle time while attempting to spin.

If you don't mind running your clothes through multiple cycles the machine does have a large number of cycles and temperatures available. It does a good job of cleaning. However it tends to rinse out the softener leaving clothes harsh when dried. The machine does have a "keep fresh" cycle and it does offer a self cleaning cycle.

Overall I would suggest that you look at a different model from this manufacturer or at a different brand.

Service and delivery comments:

Abt was, as they always are, flawless.

The delivery was prompt, the installer was professional and courteous. The work was completed in record time and the installation tested before they left.

Abt service came out to look at the machine and they have been very good to try to make this machine work properly.

No fault here. You can't do better than these people.

Replaced a 10 year old front loading machine with this one. I've been really disappointed.
1. Wash cycles are almost 50% longer than previous. Cycles can approach 2 hours with the spin problems.
2. You can't just put something wet in it and spin it dry. There is no such cycle.
3. Clothes come out over washed, faded and tied in knots.
4. Does a very poor job of rinsing. Towels come out scratchy with detergent residue. All fabrics are not soft when done but stiff and poorly rinsed.
5. The spin cycle struggles to balance and spin out a load. This is probably part of the problem with the poor rinsing. The wash water is never properly extracted. In the final spin it often takes between 20 minutes or longer for the machine to finally balance the load to the point it will spin it dry.
6. Where my previous machine never moved around even with the heaviest of loads this one vibrates and shakes like crazy.

All in all, not a good purchase. I'd certainly not ever buy this brand again. A real disappointment.
