The awesome sound to nirvana
About Me Audiophile, Movie Enthusiast, Practical, Tech Savvy
The Aventage RX-A3010 was an upgrade from RXV-663!!!. Now mated to Paradigm Monitor 11, centre- 3, surrounds and Reference studio sub-12 Paradigm sub woofer with its own PBK-1 room correction apart from YPAO. The set up was a breeze with the room correction. Sound quality was truly amazing and audiophile quality in the stereo two channel and stereo 9 channel modes. The impact with movies and dialogue delivery was truly awesome. I Don't think one would desire anything more than what the Aventage RX-A3010 has to offer in terms of connectivity, ease of operation and performance. The only down side was the stability of the net radio inspite of a firmware upgrade. The FM/AM antenna could have been more powerful. It would be nice to see the NET radio mention artist and song details with a firmware upgrade for the same.

This is a fantastic receiver and I couldn't be any happier. I have my Rx-a3010 Paired Bowers and Wilkin's CM9's, CMC2 and a pair of DS3B surrounds. It really makes the B&Ws sound to their potential!

I purchased the Yamaha RX-A3010 to replace a 3-year old Onkyo TX-NR5007 receiver that died on me. I am really impressed with the Yamaha. I feel that I went from a great receiver to an awesome receiver. The Yamaha produces movie theater quality sound for movies and clear reproductions for musical. I have played Star Trek, Master and Commander, and Green Lantern DVDs on both receivers and the Yamaha gave the more impressive results. I was wowed the Yamaha's musical sounds when playing Celtic Woman's "Songs from the Heart" video. The video and sounds seemto be some what better than that I had experienced with the Onkyo. In the Onkyo's defense, I am not a technical person and I may not have had the proper settings. In Yamaha's favor, set up was quick and easyand gave more impressive results. The only negative I have for Yamaha is the remote, for me the Onkyo's is better. Since I use a Harmony One,the remote is not an issue. In summary, I have been very pleased with this receiver.

About Me Enthusiast
Upgraded from an Onkyo 605 and couldn't be happier. YPAO did an excellent job compensating for challenging room acoustics. Power and clarity is astounding. Love the impact it provides for HT and the tonality for music. Highly recommend!
An outstanding receiver
from Virginia Beach, VA
I have previously used receivers made by several other manufacturers, but none of them had the capabilities of this one. The YPAO automatic setup is quick and precise, the included sound programs offer a wide range of listening venues, and, unlike those offered in competing units, are quite different in their effects. I added an extra amp so that I can use the 11.2 features, which I highly recommend: the size and depth of the resulting sound stage is truly remarkable. This is an expensive unit, but it is well worth the cost: after using it, you will never want anything else. There is one nuisance: the lack of a complete printed manual. A unit of this complexity offers many features that are not obvious, and one has to refer to the user's manual frequently. That is annoying when one only has a manual on CD, or as a download from the Yamaha website. A high-end unit of this kind should not be affected by cost cutting by the manufacturer.
This receiver is in a different League

Bought this receiver to replace my older Yamaha RX-Z1 for the new features. I loved the sound and gave it to my son. But...WOW! Being a Home Theater pioneer (first HT was stereo simulator hooked into TV headphone jack), and a longtime Yamaha owner, I couldn't believe the difference in sound! Everything is so much clearer to my ears, and the dynamics really make my Klipsch speakers sing! If you are in the market for an A/V Receiver, you should check this one out!
RX-A3010 upgrade from RX-V2600

I use this on my Main audio/Video system I still only have the 7.1 at this time I am trying to decide to get bigger mains or just to stay with the Smaller surrounds. Either way I will not be sorry this is a really nice system. I have owned Carver, Sansui, Phase liner HK and Yamaha nothing matches this one system. I wish it had more control like a Graphic EQ but still it is a very clean sounding receiver. Every time I turn it on I get blown away by something else I did not hear before or just by the dimensional quality of audio playback. I really like the Network audio so clean. You will not be sorry if you get this system. I added the Blue Tooth system and its nice to control and playback from my phone. Enjoy!
Countless Features with Easy Control

About Me Power User
I use the receiver every day for music, TV and gaming(360,PS3) and about once a week for movies. I have the receiver paired with Definitive Technology speakers and the 3010 makes them sing, especially with blu-ray movies. The first time I really got to test the surround capabilities was with the X-2 blu-ray and from start to finish it surpassed all expectations and blew away my old Pioneer Elite VSX92. It's weird, but one of my favorite things has got to be the Control app, it was a very pleasant surprise in ease of use and depth of functionality. I don't use the DSP's a really, but I can say that the Pure Direct performance is astounding. The only complaint I have is lack of WiFi/Airplay. But I've got a powerline ethernet switch, so it's not really an issue for me, and I believe the newer 3020 model has it anyway. OH I almost forgot, the main remote couldn't turn volume up, but I just have to send it to get a replacement!
