Ever since I bought an iPad (and actually before, as I was considering the Macbook Air as an alternative), I have been looking for a portable keyboard option. That is 10 months of looking around and considering. The closest I came was to the Clamcase, which seemed to provide "the best of both worlds."
However, having used the iPad over this time, I have come to realize that I appreciate having it as unfettered as possible, and keeping it in a keyboard folio type case would become unbearable (pun intended) after a while. Also, observing other people wield their iPads in folios gave me the impression that it was uncomfortable.
Also, for those of you who are not aware of this, all iPad-sized keyboard cases have very small and tightly packed keys, which can make typing a frustrating experience.
So. I kept the Smart cover, put a cover on the back, and kept it light.
...as for the keyboard, I already own an iMac and thus had the wireless keyboard. I bought a bigger wireless keyboard for home (actually, the Logitech solar, which I love), and use the smaller one for the iPad.
SO... the origami case is great.
Of course, the downside is having it as a separate item to carry. If I am going to work at a coffee shop or something, I tend to carry all of my tech paraphernalia in a bag together, so that is just one more.

I bought and took this along on a recent business trip (wrapped around an Apple bluetooth keyboard) together with my iPad, to make it easier to take notes at a conference ... leaving my laptop behind. It worked well. Using the keyboard vs. the touch screen made serious typing much easier on the iPad, and the Origami propped up the iPad at a nice angle.

the material is stiff enough to protect the keyboard very well when used as a cover and to securely hold up the ipad at a good angle and with no wavering when used as a stand. the velcro snaps are easy to use and totally solid. it's not majorly important, but the thing looks good while being used either way. a bit pricey -- just yesteday I bought a 3-bulb bathroom light fixture for a third less -- but it's a completely standard mac accessory price and it both works perfectly and will last forever, so I am well satisfied
