Comments about Jenn-Air 36" Induction Cooktop:

I have used the Jenn Air Induction cooktop daily for over a year. I chose it because of its lower energy usage, immediate temperature controls and because it's easy to clean. Because there are no flames, my kitchen is cooler when I am cooking.

I use it to boil water quickly or melt chocolate without a double boiler. I can get a nice sear on meats and fish or I can simmer a soup or sauce for a couple of hours. If I find that a food is cooking too quickly or too hot, I can lower the temp and the cooktop responds within 3 seconds to the new temp.

The ONLY negative is that you must use special cookware. I purchased a new set with the money I saved over buying a gas cooktop. But, I have not found a square non-stick griddle, pressure cooker, or wok that is induction suitable. My aluminum Whirly Pop popcorn popper will not work on it either. It will just take time for cookware manufacturers to make induction compatible pieces for every use.
